Fresh, colourful and made on site. Chef Steven's kitchen fuels growing bodies and big imaginations every day at Senses ELC. 🥕

Children eat well when the food has been filling the centre with its smell all morning, and even better when they had a hand in growing it. Some of today's vegetables came straight from our own garden beds.

Located in the heart of Milsons Point, we are welcoming new families to Senses ELC for 2027. 🌟

Our Senses Ignite curriculum brings sensory exploration and play-based learning together, from the calm of our Nursery through to the busy discovery of our Preschool rooms. Every stage is designed around how young children learn and how they grow.

This week we have joined services across Australia for National Child Protection Week, and this year's theme is every conversation matters, shifting conversation to action.

At Senses ELC, keeping children safe shapes every policy we write and every decision we make about our environment. We listen closely when a child tells us something, and we act on what we hear. Children who feel heard grow into children who speak up.

Long before children can name what they feel, they can recognise it in someone else. 💛

Our educators give our children the words for it. We talk about big feelings openly at Senses ELC, and we sit beside a child who is upset for as long as it takes. Empathy starts here, in the early years, which is why R U OK? Day belongs in an early learning centre.

Our educators read the same picture book several times a day and still find a new voice for it every time. 📖

Children return to a story because of the person telling it. That is how our Senses Ignite curriculum builds early literacy, through shared attention and storytelling long before a letter is ever formally taught. Sixty years of International Literacy Day, and the method has not changed.

It's Children's Book Week, and this year's theme is Symphony of Stories.

We like that word, symphony. Lots of different parts coming together to make something whole, which is exactly what story time looks like at Senses. One educator reading, twenty children leaning in, and a chorus of "again, again!" at the end.

All week our children are sharing favourite books from home and settling into the reading nooks in each room's library. Ask your child which story got the loudest encore.
