R U OK? Any Day at St George Campus 💛🖤

St George campus celebrated R U OK? Any Day, reminding our students and staff that checking in on one another and having meaningful conversations can make a real difference.
A special highlight was the surprise visit from SpongeBob, Tweety Bird, Big Bird, and Winnie the Pooh, who brought smiles, laughter, and plenty of positive energy to campus. Students loved meeting their favourite characters, helping create a fun and welcoming atmosphere filled with connection and community spirit.
A big thank you to all our staff who helped make the day such a success. Together, we're building a campus where everyone feels supported, connected, and comfortable asking, "Are you OK?"

We have have Industry Connections! 🤝

Cert IV Marketing & Communications at St George campus. 👩‍💼👨‍💼📈

A recent Guest Speaker Monica Ikladios (AL Digital Transformation) gave our Cert IV Marketing & Communication students at St George TAFE, a fresh and honest look at what marketing really means today.
Shifting the focus from just outputs to meaningful outcomes, students explored the importance of working on the “client side,” understanding real business impact, and building versatile “T-shaped” skills. There was a strong emphasis on getting hands-on experience early, becoming comfortable with data, and embracing the growing influence of AI in the industry.
Students also gained valuable insights into managing expectations as they begin their careers, recognising that growth takes time and curiosity is key. Monica, encouraged them to build a strong personal brand, stay open to learning, and remain adaptable in a fast-changing field.
Overall, it was an inspiring session that highlighted both the realities and exciting opportunities within modern marketing.

“I’m so proud of myself, how I’ve grown through these years” - Natalie.

Natalie has been engaged with TAFE since she was 18 years old, from English Literacy Skills, Cooking, Animals Studies and Business Studies, she’s been empowered to continue learning and discovering her passions, leading her to partake in Certificate III Visual Arts at St George’s Montgomery Street Campus.

“I like everything… I love photography, talking to people, new people… drawing, painting.”

With the assistance of Disability and Access Services along the way, Natalie has flourished with “a lot of support, anything I need", support that is tailored to her specific needs and goals.

Learning is ongoing, our interests evolve just as we do, and if you live with a disability, medical or mental health condition, Disability and Access Services is there to uplift you at each stage.

Through providing in-class and one-on-one support to students, implementing personalised reasonable adjustments to learning, strengthening skills and bolstering self-determination, Disability and Access Services supports students to learn, grow and succeed in their educational journeys.

💛💜 AUSTRALIA'S BIGGEST MORNING TEA 💛💜

The St George ESOL department recently came together in support of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea 2026 (May) ☕🍰🍪 | a meaningful initiative that raises vital funds for cancer research and support services across Australia.
This year’s event was especially close to our hearts, organised by one of our amazing colleagues and held in honour of her mother who recently passed.
It was a touching reminder of the personal impact cancer has on so many in our community.
Thank you to all staff who generously supported the event and contributed to a beautiful, delicious banquet of food. Your kindness and community spirit made the morning truly special. 💛💜

Big thanks to HALT (Hope Assistance Local Tradies) Australia for delivering impactful presentations to our men and women apprentices at our St George campus 💬🔧👷🏽👷🏽‍♀️🏗🔨🚧

Supporting mental health in the trades is more important than ever, and this session sparked meaningful conversations and awareness among our students and staff.

Why this matters:
• ✅ Tradies face some of the highest rates of mental health challenges
• ✅ Encourages early conversations and breaking the stigma around speaking up
• ✅ Builds practical skills to recognise when a mate might be doing it tough
• ✅ Promotes a culture of looking out for each other on and off the job site
