Anglican Pre K-12 Day & Boarding School for Girls Abbotsleigh provides a quality, well-balanced education, underpinned by the Christian faith.

Each girl is empowered to be a courageous, constructive and compassionate world citizen, who embraces diversity and has a will to serve others. For many generations, Abbotsleigh has been empowering young women by providing them with an education that prepares them for their future. Education includes more than academic excellence, so Abbotsleigh seeks to focus on the whole girl, offering girls unparalleled opportunities to develop their gifts and talents as well as their character.

Last Friday, as part of National Reconciliation Week, a group of Year 7 and Year 11 students represented Abbotsleigh at the annual Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Servicemen and Servicewomen Commemoration Service in Hyde Park. The ceremony honours and remembers the service and sacrifice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans, many of whom risked their lives for our country but were not always recognised upon their return home.

It was an honour to be involved and a valuable opportunity to reflect on how we can be โ€œAll Inโ€ on reconciliation.

Year 11 took part in a full day leadership program facilitated by yLead yesterday. They learned about the importance of character, the keys to successful teamwork, and how they can shape a legacy here at Abbotsleigh.

The skipping rope challenge once again was one of the most entertaining challenges of the day, requiring significant timing, coordination and strategy to master.

Today we welcomed the Grandparents of our Year 3, 5 and Kindergarten girls to the Junior School for our annual Grandparents' Day.

The Junior campus was abuzz with excited girls showing their family members all the wonderful activities they get up to, and the incredible things they've learned. Our esteemed visitors were treated to a special assembly, classroom visits, activities and more.

Thank you to all the Grandparents who were at the Junior School today, your granddaughters were thrilled to share part of their Abbotsleigh experience with you.

Congratulations to our Year 7 ISDA debating team, who defeated Knox in the recent ISDA Semi-Final!

Arguing against the topic โ€œthat an independent panel of economic experts should be in charge of national economic policy instead of the governmentโ€, they will take part in the Grand Final on Friday at St Joseph's College, Hunters Hill - come along and support the team!
