Last Friday, as part of National Reconciliation Week, a group of Year 7 and Year 11 students represented Abbotsleigh at the annual Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Servicemen and Servicewomen Commemoration Service in Hyde Park. The ceremony honours and remembers the service and sacrifice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans, many of whom risked their lives for our country but were not always recognised upon their return home.
It was an honour to be involved and a valuable opportunity to reflect on how we can be โAll Inโ on reconciliation.

Year 11 took part in a full day leadership program facilitated by yLead yesterday. They learned about the importance of character, the keys to successful teamwork, and how they can shape a legacy here at Abbotsleigh.
The skipping rope challenge once again was one of the most entertaining challenges of the day, requiring significant timing, coordination and strategy to master.

The Dish at St Peterโs Church at Hornsby provides meals and connection to those in need four nights a week within our local community, and Abbotsleigh is proud to support The Dish each term, by providing meals that have been prepared by our Abbotsleigh school community.
