There was a special moment at our first Alumni Lunchtime Session when Margaret Peasley (Class of 1971) returned to Randwick High School, bringing with her an original school hat from her time as a student.
More than 50 years after walking these same grounds, Margaret joined our Year 10 and 11 students to share insights and advice about navigating the senior years of school, including subject selection, post-school pathways, study strategies and maintaining balance.
We are grateful to our alumni who continue to give back to the school community, sharing their experiences and helping inspire the next generation of Randwick High students.

The girls keep on doing it! ⚽
They put on a stellar performance in their semi-final, defeating Rose Bay HS 6–1 and securing their place in the final against Kirrawee HS.
A special shout-out to Cleo in goals, who put in a player-of-the-match performance. Multiple balls were fired her way throughout the match, but she remained confident and decisive in her decision-making, making a number of crucial saves when her team needed her most.
The goals were shared between Jamie, Katy and Ellie S, who each found the back of the net twice to complete the scoring.
The girls’ success doesn’t stop there. As well as progressing to the final, they have also qualified for the next stage of the competition, where they will take on some of the best school teams from across the state.
Congratulations to the team on another excellent result, and best of luck in the final against Kirrawee HS.

Recently, our Year 12 Society and Culture students stepped outside the classroom and into one of Australia’s largest Buddhist temples, Nan Tien Temple.
From learning tai chi to hearing directly from a Buddhist Venerable, students had the opportunity to explore beliefs, values and worldviews in an authentic setting. The visit also provided valuable firsthand research opportunities for their upcoming assessment task.
The excursion gave students the opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world setting and gather valuable insights for their research.

Today our Year 12 students attended a Careers Expo, exploring a wide range of career pathways, university courses and future opportunities beyond school.
We are also looking forward to our own Careers Day on 16 June, where students across Years 10–12 will have the opportunity to connect with universities, organisations, industry professionals and many of our alumni returning to share their experiences and advice.
These opportunities play an important role in helping students make informed decisions about their future pathways.

Alumni Spotlight | Nikita Vidyaev
Nikita’s pathway after school has taken him from Nursing, to Law, to business leadership — proving that careers do not always follow a straight line.
Now working as Corporate General Manager – Business Optimisation at Summit Care while completing his MBA at AGSM UNSW, Nikita says some of his biggest growth came from failure, challenge and backing himself to try something new.
His advice to students:
“Don’t be afraid to fail. That is the only time you grow.”

Today we welcomed back 2004 alum Isaac Graham to speak with our Year 9 English students about their school yearbook project.
Students gained valuable insight into publishing, storytelling, graphic design and teamwork, while hearing about Isaac’s journey from Randwick High School to his current role as School Magazine Advisor with the NSW Department of Education.
A fantastic opportunity for students to learn from one of our own.
