*🎤 SINGING SYDNEY SHOWCASE - AUDITION INFO* Dec 2026 🎤🎙️

Hey team! Here’s everything you need for your audition video and Show case information 💛

*1. SONG CHOICE*
- Pick something _upbeat, happy & light_ for your audition
- We’ll choose 2-3 sad/emotional songs for the actual show so it doesn’t feel dull

*2. BACKING TRACKS*
- You _must buy your backing track as an MP3_ - no YouTube karaoke links sorry!
- Recommended: http://karaoke-version.com
- Once you submit, _email Hayley at [email protected] with your song details so we can make the set list
- Set list will be revealed a few days before the show
- First + Last performance slots are reserved for students who sound fab and have worked really hard ✨

*3. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR*
- Tone, Pitch & Breathing
- Emotional Connection
- Performance & Storytelling

*4. OUTFIT*
Dress to impress OR wear something that fits your character

*5. VIDEO TIPS*
- Camera facing your face
- Whole body in the shot
- Good angle + clear sound
- ⁠Once complete, post on the Singing Sydney group face book page.

*6. MARKETING*
- _Headshot due: Nov 29th 2026_ - for flyers!
- Please also post on IG/FB and invite everyone. We want a big audience to cheer you on 💛

*7. SUBMISSION*
- _Due: Nov 29th 2026_
- _Audition Fee: $25_
- Videos will go on our _private_ Singing Sydney YouTube channel for students only

*8. SHOWCASE DAY INFO*
- _Venue/Date/Time: TBC_ it will be in Dec 2026.
- _Arrive 1hr early_ for quick soundcheck + mic check
- You’ll sing _1 verse + 1 chorus_ - it’s fast so be ready!
- _Please warm up before you arrive_
- Guests arrive 1hr after us
- _Guest tickets: $20_
- Invite your friends + family to come support you!

BIO

Hey! Chris fernandes here, I’m a musician with over half a decade of experience in teaching music and vocal training.
Being self taught has helped me build the knowledge and techniques, taking the best experience I have had through my gigs playing with other musicians.
A lot of my learning comes from listening to those artists I have deeply admire.
Most of my inspirations are from the 90s grunge, country, gospel and pop.
I don’t believe there is text book way of learning, instead I believe in magnifying the students voice and build on their vocal skills to suit their style of singing.

A lot of our singers are beginners and this space provides an opportunity for our singers to gain experience and confidence in their singing. We also have students that have been with us singing for over 10 years and they rock the stage with their songs. What song will you choose this year? X
