πŸš¨πŸ“± National AusAlert Test – 2:00 PM Today (27 July) πŸ“±πŸš¨
At 2:00 PM today, a national test of the AusAlert emergency warning system is being sent to compatible mobile devices across Australia.
πŸ”” What to expect:
βœ… Your mobile phone, smartwatch or tablet may receive a test emergency alert.
πŸ“³ Devices are expected to vibrate and play a loud siren-like warning sound for around 10 seconds, even if they are on silent.
πŸ“² A message will appear on screen clearly stating that it is a test alert.
ℹ️ Not all devices may receive the alert, and some may receive it later than others. This is expected as part of the testing process.
βœ… No action is required β€” this is a planned national test only.
🌐 For more information, please visit the AusAlert website:
https://www.ausalert.gov.au/alerts-explained/national-test

πŸš¨πŸ“±Critical Mobile Test Alert – TODAY 2pm

πŸ“³ Today at 2pm, AusAlert will send a critical test alert to all compatible mobile devices. This will include most phones, smart watches and tablets.
πŸ“² Devices will vibrate and play a siren-like warning for 10 seconds.
πŸ”Ή What this means:
⚠️ This will likely cause disruption to any delivery occurring at this time.
πŸ’™ This may cause distress for some individuals, please communicate to your students to expect this today, and it is just a test.
πŸ’¬ β€œThis is a test of an Australian National Government service and does not indicate there is a real incident or emergency. TAFE NSW does not require you to take any action in relation to this test.”

Further information can be found on the AusAlert Site.

We’re celebrating NAIDOC Week and β€˜50 Years of Deadly’ with these creations from the TAFE NSW- Aboriginal Engagement- North Region Cultural Arts Men’s Group, inspiring connection and storytelling through the sharing of knowledge and skills. πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ
Gathering on Awabakal Country at Lake Macquarie, the men’s group, led by Arron Nichols from Spiritbird Creations, completed the TAFE Statement in Aboriginal Engagement and Employment (CSO1111). Drawing on traditional tools and weapons, participants crafted stunning pendants that reflect culture, creativity and personal expression. 🌿✨
β€œThe group embraced the opportunity to learn timber-working skills and techniques to shape pendants from ringed Gidgee and Mulga timber,” said Aboriginal Education and Engagement Coordinator Emma McDonald. β€œTheir designs were inspired by traditional tools and weapons.” 🌟
Over two days, the group came together to connect, yarn and create, producing a collection of deadly pendants to be proud of. πŸ”₯
