The Reserve Bank of Australia has released their August Education Update "What’s happening in the Australian economy?"

In this update, they explain why inflation remains above the RBA’s target, how higher oil prices are affecting inflation, and what recent developments in the housing market and data centre investment tell us about the economy. Also discussed is the recent cash rate decision.

Don't miss the new, ready to use worksheet for the classroom to help students engage with and apply these ideas:

Hosted by the United States Studies Centre & ANU National Security College is this FREE webinar;

Private life, public world: what privacy means in 2026

Tuesday 8 September 2026
4.30–5.30pm AEST
Online, free and recorded

Students know what privacy feels like: don’t look at my phone, don’t share my messages, that’s personal. But in 2026, privacy also sits at the centre of bigger debates about social media, data, digital platforms and young people’s public lives.

This session will give teachers practical ways to turn those everyday student instincts into classroom discussion, helping students think more critically about privacy, rights, responsibility and participation in a digital world.

Registration and further details:

Register now for this webinar on Tuesday, 8 September. Teachers will learn practical ways to teach privacy as a real-world HSIE issue, not just an online safety lesson.
