Hi, I'm Devika, a Certificate III Educator at Cheltenham Early Education Centre.
My background isn't what you might expect!
I have a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and certifications in Salesforce. But becoming a mum of two completely changed my direction, and I haven't looked back.
Watching children learn, explore, and grow is genuinely the most fascinating thing I've ever been part of. More exciting than debugging code, I can tell you that much.
I love supporting children to feel safe, included, and confident in their own pace and their own way.

This week, we were honoured to welcome our local firefighters from to CEEC Magnolia House and CEEC Tallowwood Place, as part of our recognition of .
The children were excited to learn about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. They had the opportunity to explore the fire truck, see firefighting equipment up close, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of how first responders help people every day.
As a thank you, the children made cookies and wrote on cards to give to the fire fighters and also the first responders on the ‘000’ call centre.
A heartfelt thank you to our local firefighters and all first responders for their dedication, courage, and service.
We are grateful for everything you do to keep our communities safe!

A bowl of something warm and nourishing — that's what this Veggie Miso Soup delivers.
A rich umami broth made with miso and Vegemite, loaded with silky tofu, carrot, bok choy, edamame and noodles.
It comes together in 40 minutes and is the kind of weeknight dinner that feels like a hug on a cold day.
The combination of miso and Vegemite might sound unexpected, but together they create a depth of flavour that works beautifully. It's also a great way to gently introduce children to new ingredients and textures in a familiar format.
Serve it as is or with a slice of bread and dinner is ready.

Hi, I'm Jieun, an Early Childhood Educator at Cheltenham Early Education Centre. 👋
I'm someone who is genuinely curious about the world, and I bring that curiosity into everything I do with the children in my care. For me, early childhood is about those gentle, precious moments like listening, connecting, and supporting children as they explore at their own pace.
What I love most about working at CEEC is the culture of truly respecting each child's unique voice, and the way our team constantly communicates and supports one another to create the best environment for our families.
Outside of the centre, you'll find me crocheting, painting, or sharing stories with my family at the end of the day.

It's National Road Safety Week. Will you take the 'Drive So Others Survive' pledge to support the reduction of road trauma?
🚗 I pledge to drive as if my loved ones are on the road ahead.
🚗 I will remove all distractions and never use my mobile phone while driving.
🚗 I will not put other people at risk by speeding, driving while tired or under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
🚗 I will protect all vulnerable road users, especially those whose job places them in harm’s way, by slowing down and giving them the space they need to be safe.

Risotto has a reputation for being tricky, but we promise this one is more stir-and-watch than anything intimidating.
Our Mushroom Risotto is filling, flavourful and the creamy texture is a winner with most children.
Paired with corn and peas stirred through, it covers some nutritional ground with some easy favourites.
Our latest blog has the full recipe, plus a few tips to make it work for your family.

Are you looking for smoother transitions into dinner time? 🍽️
At SEEC, we practise progressive meals - a child-centred approach that gives children the freedom to eat when they're hungry, choose where they sit, and take part in preparing and serving their own food.
This translates to children who are more willing to eat, more open to trying new foods, and more confident in their independence.
Our latest blog explores why we do things this way and how you can bring some of these rituals into mealtimes at home.

"What's that yummy smell?"
If you've ever had a child wander into the kitchen mid-cook, you know that's the highest compliment going.
Our latest recipe is a hearty Italian pasta soup, packed with vegetables, beans and the kind of gentle flavour that works for the whole family.
Plus, it's a great one to make together.
