Don't panic
So my boy got lucky again and scored 2 goals (Thats 3 consecutive weeks he scored in the caterpillar league - Canley Heights Cobras Football Club).
But the epiphany moment was the 6+wasted opportunity during the game. Open goal 3 steps aways from goal and our kids airswing or smashed it out.
They panic, not did not analyse the situation and just froze.
As parents, mentor and a teacher myself
"Making good choices" = My number 1 priority/ lesson in life"
Dont panic , stay compose, SWOT analysis of situation and make the best decision given the situation.
Sometimes its not an easy win or lose but lose or lose less.
Still must pull the trigger and be at peace with your choices.
"Note to self.... Dont Panic"

Lol
Scored 2 goal today.
A win for us as parent/mentor is to see our children do well in whatever they do.
My formula so far =
Lots of love, patience, praises for confident boost, consistent training and cultivating positive energy even when they"re Nemo are some basic ingredients for growth.
Stop asking your child "how was school today."
They'll say "good" every single time.
It's not because nothing happened. It's because the question is too broad for a kid to process after a full day of sensory overload.
One of our parents shared a trick with me that I've been recommending ever since.
Instead of "how was school," she started asking her son one specific question at dinner every night.
"What's something that confused you today?"
That's it.
The first few nights he shrugged. But by the end of the week, he started actually thinking about it before dinner. He'd come to the table ready with an answer.
It opened up conversations about what he was learning, what he was struggling with, and what he was curious about. Things she never would've heard from "how was school."
The best conversations with your child don't come from big questions. They come from small, specific ones asked consistently.
Try it tonight. One question. See what happens.
If you found this useful, share it with a parent in your circle who might need to hear it too.
Happy Easter holiday.

Early birds gets the worms.
Teaching can be fun and satisfying with small wins when you help kids solidify their moral compass, become a better learner & a Sigma version of themselves.

Building relationships over content.
"Students dont really care how much you know till they know how much you care" is a simple yet underlying philosophy for educators and parents.
Im still learning how to teach my 6 yo. Choices of words, adjusting pace of my speech and negotiating with his urge for a break, snacks, inability to sit still/focus.
All these minor setbacks can be improved by
*TENDER LOVING CARE*
Lessons are now fun, energized and meaningful
It is now Xavier that approaches me daily & asking
"Dadda can we do 6 pages today?"
"I want to learn the 6x table today"
