2026, Amsterdam Worldpride, 25 years since the Netherlands was the first country to approve same s*x marriage, 23 years ago I married my gay husband and about 20 years we divorced.

I have these thoughts as I am walking around in Amsterdam having returned to the Netherlands nearly a year ago after 32 years away.
I can’t deny that my re-integration into the Netherlands isn’t going as well as I hoped. I guess that is the point. It is in these moments of reflection that growth happens.
Regardless of your situations, dealing with big changes in your life isn’t easy. But you can’t give up and stop living.
There are so many options and opportunities, you never know what is around the corner, but to be able to welcome them in, you have to step out of your comfort zone.
