Sandra became aware of the need to run visual art classes for children that actually taught them to paint and draw in a fun, stimulating and supportive environment. Sandra believed that children should not be limited in their art instruction but rather art concepts and techniques should be delivered in a child friendly and systematic manner to enhance maximum learning so that children as young as 5 had the opportunity to begin to fully explore their artistic potential. The School was established in order to provide children that love art with the advanced art instruction they need to create art for the rest of their lives. Our education is unique in that classes are held in Sydney schools straight after school and it is progressive with each term building on the last. We consider each child as an individual and we work closely with each one to develop their technical abilities, creativity and unique style, whilst moving ahead at their own pace. Our classes are logically structured so that each week we teach a new and more challenging concept resulting in a weekly keepsake of their artistic development, that mums are proud to hang in their home. Lessons are presented in a child friendly manner incorporating both traditional and contemporary techniques. Our unique innovative formula ensures each child will create their artwork with a great sense of pride and accomplishment. All teachers at Kids On Canvas are practicing artists and art students who are proficient and skilled in many techniques. Each is trained to understand the importance of each individual student. They are passionate and committed to passing on their knowledge and offer guided instruction to each child. All our classes are kept to a size that allows us to ensure that each child receives maximum individual attention.
