King's Own Institute was delighted to welcome 85 students and 4 academic leaders from Guangdong Baiyun University, Guangzhou Sontan Polytechnic College, and Guangzhou College of Applied Science & Technology to our Sydney campus for a Study Camp held from 15β17 July 2026.
Over the three-day program, participants experienced Australian higher education through engaging workshops, campus activities, and cultural exchange, while gaining valuable insights into studying at KOI and student life in Sydney.

Event Recap: KOI IT Expert Talk β Beyond the Dashboards
The KOI IT School successfully hosted the KOI IT Expert Talk: Beyond the Dashboards on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, providing students with valuable insights into the connection between data analytics and cybersecurity.
Guest speaker Rashmi Madan Walavalkar, Associate Team Lead at Tech Mahindra and Senior Data Analyst at Optus, shared industry experiences, practical examples, and career advice on how organisations manage cyber risks, respond to incidents, and use data to make informed decisions.

KOI Professional Development Workshop Recap: βHow Industry Leaders Identify Standout Candidatesβ
KOI students gained valuable career insights during our recent Professional Development Workshop, designed especially for students in IT, Cybersecurity, Networking, Software Development and Information Systems.
π€ Abartan Dhakal, KOI alumnus and Head of Purple Team at StickmanCyber, shared practical strategies on building industry-ready skills, creating cybersecurity portfolios, gaining hands-on experience through labs, CTFs and bug bounties, and overcoming the βno experienceβ challenge.
πΌ Quyen Ly, KOI Human Resources Manager, provided guidance on what employers look for in rΓ©sumΓ©s, interviews and job applications, helping students better present their technical and transferable skills.
