In recognition of 'World Ocean Day', our little friends explored an ocean-themed animal rescue experience.

Our Babies used blue fabrics, scarves, and netting to wrap, cover, uncover, and protect different sea animals as they played

Our Toddler's explored an ocean-themed tuff tray, learning about ocean animals and their habitats.

🐊Aussie Wildlife Champions 🐊

Topic 4: Crocodile

This week, the Prep Room children explore crocodiles through a hands-on learning experience. As part of our Aussie Wildlife Champions program, children learned about how crocodiles lay and protect their eggs in nests.

Using play dough, the children created their own crocodile eggs. They were provided with the collage made with moss and crocodile habitat picture. Children were encouraged to bury the eggs within the nest, learning that crocodiles cover and protect their eggs until they hatch.

- Bounce Dental Visit-

Bounce Mobile Dentistry is coming back to Kids Academy Glenmore Park on Tuesday 16th June for our 2-5 year old's.

Their team is excited to visit again and provide the children with an awesome dental experience, including an education session and dental check- up.

Please note:

- Children who attended appointments previously will be contacted via SMS to confirm consent for their 6-month recall visit. A new form is not required for these children.

- New children who haven't previously attended are welcome to participate in this visit. For these children, the consent form will need to be completed.

This morning the Toddlers and Prep Rooms combined to have an incursion with Brian and Gabby from Wandana Aboriginal Education

Our Wandana program is incorporated into our weekly programs, and it introduces the children to the Indigenous Australian culture, through storytelling, music, art and hands on cultural experiences.

This morning the Toddlers and Prep room combined as Gabby led us in an Acknowledgement of Country followed by a sweeping ceremony and face paint. The children who wanted face paint, were able to choose between Water Ways (Dots) or Mountains (Lines).

After the Acknowledgement of Country commenced, we then participated in a game of musical statues, by moving our bodies in the ways of different Australian Animals. The Toddlers and Prep then gathered inside the Prep Room, where Gabby explored some Indigenous Australian Artifacts with the children, including Boomerangs, Kangaroo Skin, the meaning of symbols and Ocha powder.

Following this the toddlers and prep then gathered back outside where they were encouraged to paint Indigenous Australian symbols and their own stones. The toddlers and prep then had a turn each of placing a dot on our centre Indigenous art, explored the meaning of the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Flags and took a group photo together.
