🌺ANZAC Day 2026🌺

Today at Happy Bubby Family Day Care, we gently introduced ANZAC Day through meaningful and age-appropriate experiences.🌺

Children explored a red rice sensory tray filled with poppy shapes and letters, engaging in searching, matching and recognising letters through hands-on play. This supported early literacy, focus and problem-solving skills.🌺

They also created beautiful handprint poppy flowers, expressing creativity while beginning to understand the idea of remembrance in a simple and respectful way.🌺

During group time, we shared the stories “Lest We Forget” and “ANZAC Biscuits”, helping children connect with the meaning of the day through storytelling.🌺
A calm and thoughtful day of learning, creativity and respect ❤️

We had such a joyful time celebrating together with fun-filled activities!
Children enjoyed:
🥚 Egg hunting with friends, sharing excitement and laughter
📖 Story time with props, bringing Easter stories to life
🥕 Carrot tossing game, building coordination and teamwork
🧺 Basket decorating, expressing creativity and individuality
🏃 Egg hunt obstacle course, encouraging movement and problem-solving
Through these experiences, children developed social connections, confidence, creativity and a strong sense of belonging 🌈

Over the past two days, the children continued building on their interests through sensory, creative and collaborative play 💛
Our sensory bottles became a focus of deeper exploration 🧴✨
Using magnifying glasses, the children carefully observed colours, shapes and movement, showing strong curiosity and concentration. They even experimented with stacking the bottles, exploring balance and height in creative ways.
This interest naturally extended into block play 🧱, where children worked together to build tall towers and castles, demonstrating teamwork, problem-solving and persistence.
Outdoors, sandpit play supported cooperation and physical development, while indoors, our Harmony Week follow-up playdough activity encouraged children to explore their own features using mirrors and create faces 😊
We also saw growing confidence in communication as children enjoyed “reading” stories to each other 📚
Through these experiences, children developed:

What a beautiful continuation of our Harmony Week learning! 🌏✨
Over the past two days, the children explored belonging, diversity and creativity through hands-on experiences. From tracing their hands with colourful patterns ✋🎨 to building together with blocks 🧱, they showed growing confidence, teamwork and curiosity.
Our favourite highlight was creating sensory bottles 🧴✨!
The children carefully selected colourful beads, sea animals and themed objects, then watched with excitement as water was added and everything began to float and move.
Through this experience, children developed:

🧠 Early thinking skills (cause & effect)
💪 Fine motor control and focus
💛 A deeper sense of belonging and connection to others
A meaningful way to extend Harmony Week learning — showing that even though we are all different, we can create, explore and learn together 💕

🌈 Over the past two days at Happy Bubby Family Day Care, the children have been exploring the meaning of Harmony Week – Everyone Belongs through creative and hands-on experiences. From colouring and rainbow hand painting to creating our special “Helping Hands Belonging Tree,” the children expressed joy, pride and excitement as they contributed to shared group artwork. Through stories like Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes and meaningful conversations, the children began to understand that while we may look different, we all belong and are valued. These experiences supported their confidence, self-expression and sense of connection within our learning community.
🎶 Despite the rainy weather, the children stayed active and engaged through cultural dance, music and imaginative play. They built towers with soft blocks, played “The Floor is Lava,” and worked together using Duplo to create and rebuild structures. These moments encouraged teamwork, persistence and problem-solving, while also strengthening friendships. It has been a beautiful few days filled with creativity, cooperation and a growing sense of belonging 💛

🌈 Today at Happy Bubby Family Day Care we celebrated Harmony Week and explored the idea that everyone belongs. The children enjoyed imaginative play with our “around the world” table, creating little communities with people, cars and buildings. During group time we read Whoever You Are and sang our friendship song where each child’s name was included, celebrating our special group.
For 🍀St Patrick’s Day,🍀 the children decorated shamrocks using green tissue paper and paint, exploring textures and colours while strengthening fine motor skills. After craft, the children proudly helped clean the table together, showing teamwork and independence.
