Playdough is a powerful tool for preschool development!

That simple ball of dough does heavy-duty work for our littlest learners:

✏️ Fine Motor Skills: Rolling and pinching strengthens little hands
🧠 Sensory Calming: Squishing dough releases stress and helps with the ability focus
🗣️ Language Boost: Creating pretend worlds builds vocabularies and storytelling skills

Ready to make your own at home? Check out this quick, non-cook recipe:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup hot water (not boiling)
Food coloring (optional)

Instructions
1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar until evenly mixed.
2. Add wet ingredients: Make a well in the center and add the vegetable oil and a few drops of food coloring if desired.
3. Incorporate water: Slowly pour in the hot water while stirring continuously until a sticky dough forms.
4. Knead the dough: Once cool enough to handle, knead the dough on a clean surface for 2–3 minutes until smooth and pliable. If too sticky, sprinkle in small amounts of flour; if too dry, add a splash of water.
5. Divide and color: Separate the dough into portions and knead in additional colors or scents as desired.

Knead: On a clean surface or wax paper, knead the dough until smooth and free of lumps. If too sticky, add a little more flour.
Store: Keep the playdough in an airtight container or zip-lock bag to maintain softness and prevent drying.

We’re often asked what being not-for-profit really means for our families.

Simply put, it means that our purpose always comes before profit. Every dollar we make is reinvested back into our centres, to provide children with enriching and safe learning environments.

We understand how important it is for children to be in a place where they feel safe and settled. And when families need to make a change - planned or unexpected - we’re here to help make that transition easier.

We’re here to support families when it matters most – because every child deserves a Goodstart! ✨

Baking with gratitude this ANZAC Day 🍪💕

We have been learning about ANZAC Day this week and the spirit of mateship and remembrance by cooking these traditional treats: ANZAC Biscuits.

Why do we make them? Because they were made to last the long journey to our soldiers on the front lines, and today they remind us to be thankful.

Lest we Forget 🌸

✨ Who knew science could be this colourful? 🌈🍼
Magic Milk Experiment: Try it at home! 🏠✨

Want to recreate the magic in your own kitchen? It’s super simple and uses things you already have in the pantry!

What you’ll need:
🥛 Whole milk (room temp works best!)
🎨 Liquid food colouring
🧼 Dish soap
🥢 Cotton buds (Q-tips)

The Magic Steps:
1️⃣ Pour a thin layer of milk into a shallow dish.
2️⃣ Add a few drops of different food colours all around the centre.
3️⃣ Dip your cotton bud into the dish soap.
4️⃣ Touch the soapy tip to the milk and watch the colours ZOOM! 🚀

The Science Spark: Milk is full of fats and proteins. When the soap hits the milk, it races around to "grab" the fat molecules, creating those beautiful, swirling patterns!

Why loose parts? 🧺

Because for our 15 month–2 year olds in our Nursery 2 space, stacking, exploring, filling and tipping builds confidence, coordination and imagination.

A simple trough filled with open-ended, natural materials offers endless exploration and learning.

We have limited vacancies in our Nursery 2 space for 2026 and would love to welcome you for a tour.

Harmony Week - Everyone Belongs 🧡

Harmony Week (Monday 16 - Sunday 22 March) is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

We celebrated Harmony Week by wearing orange or special cultural outfits, engaging in art and sensory experiences, making friendship bracelets, sharing stories and songs and talking about how our diversity make us special!

Our Preschool 1 children have really enjoyed listening to the song We All Belong:
