👩‍🍳🫐 Gruffalo Crumble

Our Toddlers room have been very interested in the story The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. They have been sharing in the story, created their very own Gruffalo out of cardboard boxes and had a Gruffalo Hunt in the outdoor space and even shared in a cooking experience - making Gruffalo crumble!

Here is how our little chefs helped out:

🫐 Pouring: The children carefully helped pour out ingredients.

🥄 Stirring: Tiny hands worked extra hard to stir everything together in the bowl.

🫲 Crumbly texture: They used their fingers to squish the butter and flour together to make the perfect crunchy crumble toppings.

National Child Protection Week (NCPW) is a national campaign that brings Australians together to focus on how we can all play a role in keeping children and young people safe. It is acknowledged through 6th -12th of September and the theme this year is Every Conversation Matters, Shifting Conversation to Action.

At Goodstart Narellan Vale, helping children feel safe, heard and respected is part of our everyday practice.​

We support children to build confidence, self-awareness and communication skills through trusted relationships and responsive interactions.​

Protective behaviours are embedded into our daily experiences, helping children develop important skills that support their wellbeing.​

Creating safe, supportive environments where children can learn, grow and speak up is at the heart of what we do.​

Happy Early Childhood Educator's Day!

Today is a day to take a moment to thank our incredible, wonderful, and downright magical team of Educators that make up our Goodstart Narellan Vale family! We are so lucky to have passionate, thoughtful and inspiring people to guide and support our littlest learner's each and every day.

Thank you for all that you are and all that you do!

We were lucky enough to be treated to a surprise visit from Smooth Bean Cafe and enjoyed some yummy coffees and treats, thank you to our incredible Director Sophie for organizing!

And a big thank you to all of our beautiful families who have sent donuts and personalized cookies, sweets and homemade treats or who have taken the time to leave us a sweet message via way of our Appreciation Postcards or a handwritten note.

It is all very appreciated 💌

✨📖 BOOK WEEK 2026 📖✨

Wow, what an incredible Book Week we shared together at Goodstart Narellan Vale!

We've seen so many amazing costumes and character outfits and spent time sharing our favourite stories. There was a Gruffalo Hunt in our outdoor space with our Toddler friends, and our Preschool 2 friends learnt about the composition of books and how they are made. There was a character scavenger hunt up the hallway and lots of painting scenes from stories and different characters.

A big thank you to our wonderful team of Educators who made our Book Week so special and for all of our families who participated by dressing up or sharing their favourite story!

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.
