This speech mum’s heart was happy 🧡
Spotted this large AAC board at the park over the weekend while out with my kids — such a beautiful step toward inclusive play and communication for all children.
When communication supports are built into community spaces, more kids can connect, play, express themselves and belong. 🌈🛝
We love seeing accessibility and inclusion becoming part of everyday play spaces!

The little moments matter 💛
Language development doesn’t only happen during structured activities or therapy sessions — it grows through everyday interactions, shared attention, play, routines, and connection.
A simple pause, a shared laugh, talking about what your child is interested in, or joining them in play can create meaningful opportunities for communication every single day ✨
Small moments, repeated often, can have a big impact over time.
Some children need time before they feel comfortable communicating — and that’s okay 💛
In therapy, connection comes before expectations.
Rather than rushing into questions or structured tasks, we slow down, follow the child’s lead, and meet them in what they already enjoy.
Whether it’s LEGO, drawing, dinosaurs, or imaginative play, meaningful communication opportunities naturally happen through the activities that make a child feel safe, relaxed, and engaged 🧩
For quieter or more reserved children, reducing pressure often creates more space for confidence, interaction, and genuine connection to grow ✨
When children feel understood first, engagement follows.

One of the biggest game-changers in supporting your child’s communication? ✨ Following their lead ✨🧸
It sounds simple, but many parents unknowingly make the same common mistakes that can slow down progress:
🚫 Asking too many questions instead of commenting
🚫 Taking over play instead of joining in
🚫 Rushing to “correct” rather than connecting first
🚫 Not giving enough time for your child to respond ⏳
When you slow down, observe 👀, and follow what they are interested in, you open the door to real connection—and real communication 💬💛
It’s less about doing more… and more about doing things differently 🌱
Behind every playful, child-led speech session is a mountain of prep you never see ✂️📚✨
Our therapists are constantly planning, printing 🖨️, cutting ✂️, and laminating 📎 turning ideas into hands-on activities that help little ones build big communication skills 🗣️💬
Because when a child is engaged, learning feels like play 🧸🎲… and it’s powered by a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work 💛💪

Ever notice your child say “poon” instead of “spoon” or “tar” instead of “star”? 🗣️
This is often part of something called phonological processes—a normal stage in speech development where children simplify longer or trickier words to make them easier to say 🧠✨
One example is cluster reduction, where a child leaves out one sound in a group of sounds (like “sp” or “st”). So “spoon” might become “poon,” or “star” might sound like “tar” 🚂💨⭐️
These patterns are very common when children are learning to talk, and many grow out of them naturally over time 🌱 But if they continue longer than expected, speech therapy can help improve clarity and confidence 💬💛
Through play-based activities and guided practice, we help children build the skills they need for clear, confident communication ⭐️
Setting sessions up for success with our favourite tools ✨

On the farm learning new words! 🐓
Matching, naming, and building vocabulary through play 🌱
Try this at home:
✔️ Name the animal
✔️ Talk about where it lives and what sound it makes
✔️ Give simple instructions (e.g. “Put the cow in front of the barn”)
✔️ Use simple sentences (e.g. “The cow is in the field”)
Activities like this support vocabulary development, following instructions, and early sentence building 🐖
