Sorry Day is a time when Australia remembers that, a long time ago, some decisions were made by people in power without listening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. Many children were taken away from their families, culture, and Country, which caused deep sadness and hurt.

Today, we remember the importance of listening to families, learning from one another, showing kindness, and respecting different ways people live and care for each other. We want all children and families to feel safe, loved, respected, and connected to their culture and community.

Sorry means you don’t do it again.

Today, on National Sorry Day, we acknowledge the Stolen Generations — and the ongoing impact of policies that separated children from family, community and Country.

This is not only about remembering what has happened.
It is about what continues — and what is required of us now.

Today, our doors remained open, but inside, we stood united.

While we would have valued showing our support outside of Parliament House and marching through Martin Place we chose to stay present for our children and families, rallying together from within.

Our voices, however, are FAR FROM QUIET. We continue to speak up, loudly and persistently, to those in government who have yet to truly listen.

As part of the Start Strong, Pay Fair movement, our educators, families, and children wore pink today in solidarity with community preschool teachers and educators across the sector.

This was more than a colour, it was a message.

A message that we are being overlooked. A message that “enough funding” does not reflect our reality. A message that without fair and equitable pay, our sector is at risk.

We are already seeing the strain. Passionate, experienced educators are being pushed out, and with them, the quality that underpins early childhood education.

🌱Plant some seeds, look for bugs or go on a scavenger hunt to celebrate Nature Play Week, which runs from 11 to 22 April. Nature play helps children get active, learn new things and explore using their senses and imagination.

Our Management Committee, families, children and friends,

We stand together to raise our voices for fairness, respect and recognition, not only for educators, but for the children and communities we nurture every day.

On March 18, we invite everyone to wear pink to highlight what makes community preschools like Bradbury Preschool truly exceptional. As Abigail Boyd, Member of the Legislative Council and Chair of the Inquiry into Early Childhood Education and Care, reminded us, 75% of community preschools in NSW exceed expectations, compared with only 25% across the wider sector.

This powerful statistic reflects the heart, dedication and quality that community-based education provides for children and families every single day.

Wearing pink is more than a symbol. It is a reminder that this movement is not only about pay — it is about protecting the integrity of early childhood education. It is about ensuring early learning remains centred on children, relationships and community.

As Abigail Boyd shared, it is time to reclaim early education as a place of joy, learning and wellbeing, for both children and educators.

We are incredibly proud to be part of the strong and passionate network of community preschools across NSW who continue to advocate for children and quality education.

Even if you don’t work in early childhood, we encourage you to wear pink in solidarity and stand with us in advocating for fair pay, strong community values and the future of early learning.

Together, our voices matter. 💗

Another wonderful day of community coming together to care for our environment as part of Clean Up Australia Day.

We are so grateful to all the families who showed up and rolled up their sleeves to help tidy Fisher Ghost Reserve. Your time, energy and commitment to caring for our shared spaces truly makes a difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, your contribution is so very appreciated!

We also extend our thanks to Campbelltown City Council Bushcare for co-hosting this important event, and to Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound, for rolling up his sleeves and giving us all a hand

Together, we are teaching our children the importance of caring for Country and looking after the place we call home. 💚
