What makes the St Andrew's experience so special?
For our Principal, Dr Daniel Tyler, the answer is simple: community.
At St Andrew's, students become part of a close-knit community where they are encouraged to contribute, support one another and make the most of the opportunities around them.
From 150+ tutorials each semester and academic enrichment, to sport, music, the arts, student leadership, mentoring and professional development, College provides a place for students to grow well beyond the university classroom.
Our Welcome to St Andrew’s video brings this experience to life through the voices of our Principal and students, sharing what they value most about being part of the St Andrew’s community.
As one student says: “You get out what you put in.”

On Monday night, we officially launched the SACAS Mentoring Program for Semester 2!
It was wonderful to bring together our mentors and mentees for the first time and kick off another rewarding semester of conversations, connections and professional development.
We are incredibly thankful to our alumni and members of the wider St Andrew’s community who have generously volunteered their time to mentor our students.
This semester, our mentors bring experience from an extraordinary range of industries and professions, and we are so grateful for their willingness to share their knowledge, experiences and advice with the next generation of Androvians.
A special thank you to Alex Rhydderch (Fr 1994) for generously hosting us at the Colin Biggers & Paisley offices in the city. It was a fantastic setting to bring everyone together and officially begin the program.
We would also like to thank the St Andrew’s College Alumni Society for their ongoing support of the SACAS Mentoring Program. Their generosity helps make both the program and events like Monday night possible.
Most importantly, thank you to all of our mentors and mentees for getting involved. We’re excited to see the relationships, conversations and opportunities that develop over the semester ahead!

Stay with me Tanshin sushi bar 🍣❤️
Hats off to the Tanshin team for catering the most incredible formal dinner for us on Wednesday night. The energy was electric, every dish was exceptional, and it was such a special evening celebrating the iconic, longstanding union between Drew’s and King Street’s favourite sushi train!

Androvians Making Their Mark- Dane Mitchell (Fr 2026) recently travelled to Georgia to represent the USA U20s at the World Rugby U20 Championship, taking the field at outside centre.
With an American mother and dual connection to the USA, Dane was proud to represent the country on the international stage. While the tournament presented its challenges, it was a memorable experience, providing the opportunity to compete at a high level of rugby, explore a new country and share the experience with a great group of teammates.
Now back in Sydney, Dane is looking to finish the rugby season strongly with Sydney University, with aspirations of taking his rugby overseas in the future.
Congratulations, Dane, on this outstanding achievement!

Congratulations to St Andrew’s alumni Lachlan Barrett (Fr 2017), named one of The Educator's Most Influential Educators 2026.
The Educator’s sixth annual list recognises just 41 educators nationally who are influencing culture and reform in Australian education. These educators are challenging the gap between what education promises and what students and teachers actually experience.
It is wonderful to see Lachlan among this year’s Most Influential Educators. While at St Andrew’s, Lachlan was pursuing his dream of becoming a teacher. Today, as a teacher at Kinross Wolaroi School, he is turning that ambition into a career dedicated to supporting young people to achieve their potential both in and beyond the classroom.
We are proud to celebrate Lachlan and this recognition of the impact he is making through education.

Congratulations to Charlie Peters (Fr 2025) on being awarded the Victoria Chick Prize by the University of Sydney Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
The annual academic award is presented to one student for achievement in second-year Political Economy, specifically Economic Policy and the State. Named after influential Post-Keynesian economist Victoria Chick, the prize recognises outstanding academic achievement in an area that brings together two of Charlie’s passions: politics and economics.
Charlie says her time at St Andrew's has played an important role in supporting her academic journey:
“Drew's has been a great environment to facilitate additional learning outside of the university classrooms. The tutorial system is a great way to consolidate knowledge, ask any questions and have debate and discussion about topics you are passionate about.”
For Charlie, the opportunity to engage deeply with ideas doesn’t stop at the university classroom. The College’s tutorial system provides space to explore complex topics, test ideas and engage in discussion with fellow students.
Her advice to other students? “My biggest bit of advice would be to study something you are really passionate about it and interested in!”
Congratulations, Charlie, on this outstanding academic achievement.

At St Andrew's, wellbeing is an important part of the student experience.
We take a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognising that feeling at home, building friendships, getting involved in College life and having access to the right support all contribute to a positive university experience.
Our Pastoral Care Leaders (PCLs) play an important role in creating a connected and supportive College community. Through social activities, educational initiatives, advocacy and opportunities to connect, they help students make the most of their time at St Andrew's.
Hear from our PCLs about their role and the many ways they contribute to student life at College.
