Halfway through exams.

It is a big week, and there is still a way to go. In between study sessions, students have been making use of the library, making the most of Glen during sunny moments, and crossing paths in the Dining Hall, all part of the rhythm of College life at this time of year.

What stands out most is not just the effort, but the way students keep showing up for one another. That is what makes St Andrew’s feel like more than a place to live and study.

Good luck to all of our students for the rest of the exam period. Keep it up, you're nearly there!💙

At St Andrew’s College, student-led initiatives guided by our Pastoral Care Leaders (PCLs) continue to strengthen connection, wellbeing, and inclusion across our community.

More than just a week of events, Belonging Week created opportunities for connection and helped foster a sense of belonging across the college community. Through appreciation boxes, a student panel, a pancake and waffles breakfast, and a family movie night, students came together to share experiences and build meaningful connections.

Coordinated by PCLs Rachel Koshy (Fr 2025) and Annabelle King (Fr 2024) as part of the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity portfolio, the initiative was one of many ways our students fostered a welcoming community, supporting the social wellbeing and sense of belonging of all students.

As National Reconciliation Week draws to a close, St Andrew’s College reflects on this year’s theme, “All in for reconciliation.”

Last Friday, our community gathered for an afternoon tea in recognition of Reconciliation Week, bringing students and staff together for a meaningful opportunity to listen, learn and reflect.

Members of the St Andrew’s community, Lua Pellegrini, First Nations Liaison, and Bill Lloyd (Fr 2025), First Nations Officer, led a thoughtful panel discussion exploring the meaning of the week, our shared history, and the role non-Indigenous Australians can play in helping close the gap and move towards true reconciliation.

Thank you to Kallico Catering and Custom Cakes for providing First Nations cuisine.

"One moment you're sitting in the audience. The next, you're helping save an Oscar winner's concert."

That's exactly what happened to alumni Sterling Nasa (Fr 2023), whose quick thinking and musical talent played a pivotal role during a live performance by Academy Award-winning composer Justin Hurwitz, best known for the film La La Land.

When an unexpected challenge arose during the concert, Sterling stepped forward without hesitation, helping ensure the performance could continue and creating a moment that has since captured national attention.

It's a remarkable story of confidence, composure and generosity under pressure, qualities that continue to distinguish members of our College community long after they leave St Andrew's.

We are delighted to see Sterling recognised in The Sydney Morning Herald and proud to celebrate this extraordinary moment with him.

Annual Giving 2026 is open and we wanted you to hear directly from the people leading this work.

In this film, Principal Daniel Tyler explains why the Main Library restoration matters and why now is the right moment.

"Excellence is never accidental. It is cultivated through expectation, culture and environment."

This year's campaign supports two things: the means-tested scholarships that are opening St Andrew's to students from across Australia, and the Main Library restoration that will strengthen the academic heart of the College for the next generation of Androvians.

Over 150 students received scholarship support this year. The Library investment has been made possible by this community before. The Junior Common Room showed us what a donor-funded vision can become. The Main Library is the next chapter.

A gift at any level makes a real difference. Many Androvians start at $250 or $500.
