🇦🇺 ANZAC Day Closure Reminder 🇳🇿

Just a friendly reminder that Willow Tree Kindergarten & WTK OSHC will be closed for the ANZAC Day public holiday.

We will reopen as normal on Tuesday 28th April.

We honour and remember the courage and sacrifice of all those who have served. 🌺

These holidays, our Vacation Care children created Helping Hands gift packs as part of a special project. Making pencil-case keepsakes filled with positive affirmations, handmade gifts and a little letter from Willow Tree. 🌳 ✨

With the support of Miss Hayley and Miss Bridget, these were delivered to our local nursing home Kilbride and were received with so much appreciation. 🤗

A beautiful reminder of the power of kindness and community! 💖

The Little Engine That Could 🚒❤️

Our Fire Engine Project began with the children’s growing interest in firefighters, emergency services, and helping others. This curiosity sparked after visits to the Fire Museum, local fire stations, and even seeing the fire trucks in action at the Camden Show!

Back at Willow Tree, their excitement flowed into play, using loose parts, crates, and boxes to create their very first “fire engine,” which started life as a humble old shopping basket! From that moment, imagination took the lead.

The children dreamed of building a real fire truck, one big enough for all their friends to join in the fun. Over time, plans were made, designs were drawn, and a budget was set. With teamwork and determination, and a helping hand from Mr Nathan, those ideas came to life as the fire engine of our dreams.

The children proudly helped with the painting and finishing touches, bringing colour, creativity, and heart to every detail. After months of planning, building, and collaboration, we unveiled our fire engine on our Willow Tree Birthday!

Families and friends gathered to celebrate what the children had achieved, and even the local fire brigade came to inspect, giving it their official seal of approval! 👨‍🚒

From a spark of interest to a dream realised, this journey has been a beautiful reminder that with imagination, teamwork, and community spirit ~ the little engine really could! ❤️🚒🌿

🌟 Community Connection at Mary Brooksbank School 🌟

Last term, our children visited Mary Brooksbank School for a special collaboration at their on-site Woolworths project! 🏬 🍏

Guided by the school captains, our children completed shopping lists, scanned items at the checkout, and packed their bags, all with the help of the amazing Mary Brooksbank students. 🛒🥫

It was a hands-on, heartwarming experience filled with teamwork, learning, and new friendships. 💚

A big thank you to Mr Thoms, Emily, and the Mary Brooksbank community for welcoming us so warmly.

We look forward to future opportunities to work alongside your students and continue building this wonderful connection. 🫶
