Grateful to be invited by Room to Read Australia to hear Collins Munene (Regional Director of Africa) speak about their work in Africa. Powerful reminder that education remains the most effective equaliser — and that investing in children today shapes the future of entire communities.

Plastic bread tags: Berowra Rotary is a collection point for plastic bread tags. These are recycled and the funds raised fund wheelchairs, mainly in South Africa.
2026 will see the end of this program - as thankfully the number of plastic bread tags has decreased. However if you have some stored ….
We are usually to be found first Saturday of the month at the Berowra Community Markets, Uniting Church, Alan Road. Please drop your plastic bread tags, no cardboard, at our stall. Otherwise send a message a drop off address.

Dear Sydney friends
In this day and age of digital post, we still use stamps — and we would love your help.
We are asking our Sydney supporters to collect used stamps for us.
These stamps are sold at auction by the Lions Club, with the proceeds going towards purchasing walkers that help children born with cerebral palsy to walk.
If you are able to contribute, please contact Bindi Shah or Susan Day to arrange drop-off or pick-up.
Thank you for supporting this wonderful cause.

Happy to say this chapter is coming to an end 😊
We’ll still be collecting bread tags until the end of 2026.
Happy New Year!
Please join us in our race to the finish line - 2026 will be our 8th and final year of accepting plastic bread tags for recycling.
Plastic tags have been banned in SA since September 2024 and NSW has announced plans to ban them from late 2027. The major nation-wide bread companies have both switched to cardboard across Australia now, so there is a lot less new plastic (yeah!)
Having said that, we know you have a lot hoarded away, so please get them to one of our collection points or post them to us ASAP! No cardboard tags please.
The map and list of all our 420 collection points nationally, as well as our postal address, can be found on our website https://ozbreadtagsforwheelchairs.org.au/.

This is a great way to help
Our sewing tables are about to buzz again!
Across Australia, Days for Girls teams are gearing up to get back sewing, cutting, ironing, stitching, folding and assembling DfG Kits that help girls and women manage their periods with dignity and confidence. Every Kit made is a step toward better health, education and opportunity.
Whether you’re an experienced sewist or just curious to learn, there’s a place for you in this movement.
Email [email protected]
Get connected with a team near you and find out how you can be part of changing the worldm one DfG Kit at a time.
Together, we’re stitching menstrual equity into communities near and far.
