‼️ do NOT scroll, SWIPE 👉🏼 because I am literally GIVING AWAY the exact 4-step process you need to take your kids from finger counting to fluent with their times tables: sort, practise, sprint, graph 👀

The research is clear - fluent recall of basic facts is essentual for the development of more advanced mathematics skills. By reducing the demand on working memory, fluent recall of basic facts enables students to devote more attention to the overall purpose of the mathematics problems.*

That's why I created a multiplication fact fluency booklet.

It includes good old fashioned drill practice, timed challenges, plus puzzles to make it fun.

Improving multiplication fluency takes just 10 minutes a day, but it will impact every single maths lesson you teach this year.

… unless it’s this 🥂😏

Making maths fun has never been easier!

1. get instant buy in with an interactive spinner that will choose the days warm up
2. display the chosen open-ended maths activity
3. provide easier and harder options (if needed)

Comment WARM UP if you want the link to these activities!

My honest thoughts on this dm from a teacher 😳

Let me know what you think👇🏼

I'm not kidding when I say this 2-minute task changed the way I taught maths forever.

When I first started teaching, I was so overwhelmed by the content I needed to get through that I never properly checked in to see if it was sticking.

By the time I found the gaps… it was too late to fix them.

Now I use exit slips all throughout the topic, and I went from "just getting through the content" to knowing exactly where my kids are at, and how to help them.

And if you're thinking "that sounds like more work"… it's actually less. Because when you collect data along the way, you only focus on what your students actually need.

And if you want to try it yourself, I've made a FREE exit pass template that's fully editable in PowerPoint. Just type in and go.

I get it, when I say that kids need to move on from finger counting to having automatic recall, this can bring up a lot of feelings.

Because not all adults can do this confidently either.

But here’s the thing, if we don’t help students move on from these inefficient strategies, we are doing them a HUGE disservice, because they are going to have a MUCH harder time as concepts get harder.

Luckily there’s a simple 4-step pathway to improving multiplication fluency.

1. Give students an opportunity to test themselves on the facts they do and don't know.
2. Then allow them to explicitly practise the facts they don't know.
3. After that do a timed practise so they can monitor and improve their correct facts per minute, and lastly
4. Let them graph their results and celebrate their success

This 4 step multiplication pathway, done right takes just 10 minutes a day but will DRASTICALLY improve your kids fluency.

If you HATE marking maths assessments, you're not alone.

With a class of 30, marking even one maths outcome will take you over an hour.

That's why I created a set of digital, self-marking tests.

They're super easy to implement, students just need access to a device. from there, once the test is finished, it automatically marks every question and gives you ALL the data you need.

Report writing in semester 2 will so much easier, if you have all your maths assessments set up ahead of time!!

This is my favourite go-to maths activity for when I have nothing planned for maths - i.e. at the end of a long weekend when I’ve been otherwise occupied 😅🥂

And this task is SO adaptable that I’ve created a free PDF guide that shows you how to use it across all areas of maths.
