Happy Birthday, Ms Sheeba! 🎂
There are some people who walk into your life and quietly make everything better, and Ms Sheeba is one of those rare, beautiful people.

Today, we celebrate not just a birthday, but a woman who has given 13 incredible years of her heart to the Little Stars family. Thirteen years of early morning smiles, of tiny hands held with patience, of children who arrived nervous and left confident, because of her.
Ms Sheeba began her journey with us as a Certificate III educator, and what a journey it has been. With quiet determination and a deep love for what she does, she went on to complete her Diploma and then her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, all while showing up every single day for the children, families, and team who needed her. From Room Leader, to 2IC, to the wonderful Manager she is today, she never stopped growing, never stopped giving.
But what moves us most isn't the titles or the qualifications, it's the children who still come back to visit. Children who are now older, who remember exactly how Ms Sheeba made them feel. Safe. Seen. Ready for the world. That is her legacy, and it is a beautiful one.
To the families who have trusted her with your most precious people, she has never taken that lightly, not for a single day.
To the staff who work alongside her, you know how lucky you are to be led by someone with such warmth and integrity.
And to Ms Sheeba herself, we hope you feel today, on your special day, even a fraction of the love and gratitude you have poured into this place. You deserve every kind word, every flower, every celebration.

Reconciliation Week was not about ticking a box or putting up decorations for a photo.

It was about slowing down together.

Listening.

Sharing stories.

Sitting in circle.

Allowing children to feel connection, not just learn about it.

Throughout the week, our educators and children gathered in yarning circles where every voice mattered. We explored culture through conversation, nature, art, music, storytelling, painting, movement and shared experiences, creating moments of genuine curiosity and respect.
What made this week special was watching the children lead parts of the journey themselves:
asking questions,
comforting one another,
sharing thoughts openly,
and learning that reconciliation begins with how we treat each other every single day.
In a world moving so fast, these moments reminded us that community is still built the old way:
by sitting together,
by listening deeply,
and by making space for one another.
We are grateful to our educators, children and families for embracing the spirit of connection, reflection and belonging throughout this Reconciliation week.

Motherhood is not just about raising children. It’s about comforting through tears, carrying worries silently, creating safe spaces, teaching kindness, and loving unconditionally even on the hardest days. The little hands that hold onto you today will one day look back and remember your warmth, your sacrifices, your voice, and the feeling of home you created for them.

To every mum reading this:
You are doing better than you think.
You are shaping lives in ways words could never fully explain.
And even in the exhausting moments, your love is becoming part of your child’s foundation forever.

For over 13 years, Ms Bala & Ms Trupti have been more than just childcare educators.

They have been comforters, teachers, role models, listeners, protectors, and a second family to hundreds of children who have walked through our doors.

In a world that moves so fast, having educators who dedicate over a decade of their lives to nurturing generations of children is something rare and deeply meaningful. These women have helped shape confidence, kindness, friendships, culture, identity, and memories that families still carry with them today.

What makes this journey so beautiful is seeing the impact years later. We now have children returning as teenagers from high school, stopping to say hello, remembering the little moments, the cuddles when they were upset, the encouragement to keep trying, the songs, the stories, the laughter, and the feeling of being safe and loved.
That is the true power of early childhood education.

Behind every child that felt seen, supported, and cared for… was an educator pouring their heart into what they do.
To our long-term team members, thank you for the love, patience, and energy you have given to our community over the years. The roots you’ve planted continue to grow far beyond the preschool years 🌱

Did you know you can get FREE plants every year?🌱
Each financial year, offers residents a selection of free plants to take home and plant. It’s all part of their amazing initiative to ‘Green the City’ and support a more sustainable, greener community.

Today, our team visited the Blacktown council nursery and picked up a range of beautiful, thriving native plants to bring back to our centre. The children will be helping us plant them in our front garden, learning about nature, caring for the environment, and watching these plants grow over time.

We may be a little late to the post… but let’s be honest, mums don’t run on calendars anyway 😅
Happy (belated) International Women’s Day to the real superheroes in our lives. The mums, the grandmothers, the educators, the carers… the ones doing a million things at once, usually with a child on the hip and a coffee going cold somewhere.

This little throwback is for you all, the women raising the next generation, shaping little hearts, and holding it all together behind the scenes.

Last Friday we gathered to honour the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. ANZAC Day is more than a public holiday, it's a reminder of courage, mateship, and the price of freedom.
We are proud to pause, reflect, and remember together.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Tomorrow we celebrate Sinhala & Tamil New Year and we're bringing back a favourite post to kick off the festivities. New beginnings, new blessings 🌼
