Pedagogical Leadership looks good on us thanks to Kelly and Adam 💕. Thank you Adam & Kelly for a wonderful session yesterday, we left feeling very inspired.

This year, we’ve began a meaningful collaboration with Plumtree Children’s Services, working closely with Occupational Therapist Karen. 🌟

Karen has supported our team in exploring strategies and tools to better meet the needs of children with diverse developmental needs, including neurodivergence. She has spent time in our little school observing children and educators, offering thoughtful insights through team meetings, and facilitating a staff training session that has genuinely enriched our practice.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to be planning a parent information night next year as part of this ongoing partnership. Our journey with Plumtree is just beginning, and we can’t wait to continue learning and growing together in 2026. 💛

Although we didn’t take home the win this time, being finalists in the 2025 Excellence in Early Childhood Education Awards was an accomplishment in itself. To be recognised in both the Community Metropolitan Service and Excellence in Partnerships with Families categories is such a beautiful reflection of what makes our centre so special, the love, care, and connection we share every day.

A huge congratulations to our incredible educators Cherie and Matthew, who were both finalists in the Educator Excellence categories. They are already winners in our eyes.

We are so proud of the heart our team puts into creating a place where children feel safe, valued, and curious.

Jacaranda season and Purple Rain.
Mel from the Wumbats described one morning with the children, last week and how it looked as though it had rained purple overnight. “The children were curious and began collecting the fallen flowers, noticing their soft texture, delicate shapes and vivid colour.” The Wumbats then made a collaborative artwork together with their purple treasures. How lucky we are to have such beautiful nature in our school surrounds 💜

Back in 2022 we adopted some baby spiny leaf stick insects from pre-school. Since then the beautiful insects have provided such amazing opportunities to learn for both children, families and educators. Our children are now Sticky experts and provide such great care we have more Stickies than we can fit in our school! This is a callout to the local learning community if you’d like to adopt a Stick Insect please reach out. Our children will happily provide a “how to care for Stickies” guide with all the information you will need for your new friends stick 🍃 💚

The Book Week Adventure has begun here at Styles Street! The excitement of our favourite book characters has come to life. The creative outfits has prompted thoughtful discussions among our children, with a Burru child commenting through the diversity of dress ups how“We are beautiful in our own way”. Thank you to our very own in house Book Wiz Matthew for coordinating the Great Book Swap. Your love of literature brings so much joy to the Styles Street community and such rich learning opportunities every single day we are very lucky to have you! We look forward to doing it all again on Friday 📖 💫

Yesterday Rainbows shone over our little school in preparation for a very special visitor to arrive. We had the very talented Author and Illustrator, read her new book My Incredible Extra Ordinary Chickens to the children at Styles Street (Emily was also a teacher here for many years). We loved learning all about chickens with you Emily and hearing your children teach us all about your beautiful pets too. The Wumbats even got to share their knowledge of their class Stick Insects. Such wonderful learning moments we loved seeing you and reading your incredible book thanks for visiting us!
