We would like to welcome Katherine Choi who will be our guest lecturer in October. She will be running a workshop to discuss teaching students on NDIS.
She completed her Masters in Special Education at the Conservatorium of Music NSW, has over 20 years of teaching experience including at the regional Conservatorium of Music in Wagga Wagga, and is a seasoned adjudicator for piano competitions.
We look forward to learning more about how to make music lessons have a meaningful impact on students who are on NDIS. Her approach is to teach in an empathetic and holistic manner which is what Blossom is all about!
It will be a 2 hour workshop and $25 for attendance.

Meet Andrew Quah, our in-resident senior piano teacher at Blossom Piano Department. He is a graduate at the Conservatorium of Music NSW and went on to be an artistic director and founder of the Greater Sydney Orchestra.
He only teaches students who want to go on the concert track (in layman terms, be a professional musician) so his piano program is intense and rigorous but also fun and rewarding at the same time. He is currently accepting students Grade 8 and above and will happily do a consultation to see if the student and teacher is the right match.
He is only offering 2 spots this year so book a consultation before his teaching schedule is full.

Congratulations to Alan Phung (7 years old) for representing Blossom Music School at the St George Eisteddfod this month. We chose a piece from the new Ameb books, Titans in Grade 1 Series 19. We like to update our exam pieces every 2-3 years to keep it fresh and exciting for both our teachers and students. Alan earned a Distinction which is a good mark considering it's his first ever competition experience.
He said this experience has built his self-confidence and he looks forward to the next challenge! Well done Alan!

Congratulations to Blossom violin tutor, Eliana Zhan, for passing her Ameb Violin Cmus exam. She is now preparing for the prestigious performance diploma, the Ameb Violin Amus, as well as performing for the Sydney Philharmonic Orchestra.
We like to see our music tutors challenge themselves by expanding their repertoire, refining their performance skills, and growing in collaboration and musicianship.
Eliana only has 2 spots left on Tuesdays so book a spot before it is all gone!
