NEW WORKSHOP ADDED TO THE 2026 PROGRAM: We’re excited to announce a new one-day workshop with Seraphina Martin, exploring the rich and surprising possibilities of viscosity colour printing.

Viscosity printing uses inks of different consistencies, applied with large rollers, to print multiple colours from a single inked plate in one pass through the press. The results can be bold, layered and unexpected, with up to five colours printed at once.

Participants are invited to bring existing plates to transform through colour, stencils and botanical materials. These may include collagraph plates, solar plates, drypoints or TetraPak plates. Inks and paper are provided, and participants will finish the workshop with a beautiful portfolio of fine art prints.

Seraphina Martin studied printmaking at the National Art School in Paris before moving to Sydney, where she has taught at the Sydney University Art Workshop for many years. She studied viscosity colour printing at Atelier 17 under master printer William Hayter, who developed the technique.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn a dynamic colour process from an artist with deep knowledge of the method.

Gorgeous drypoint print by WPS member Michelle de Jong from the Tuesday evening class; it’s a drypoint on a full size sheet of PVC, so the photo doesn’t do the size justice, amazing work 😍

What a fantastic weekend at the studio with Dianne Fogwell leading our Level 2 Linocut Masterclass 🎨✨
Participants built on their earlier black & white lino experience exploring colour through layered stencil printing, careful registration, and over printing with lino blocks. It was inspiring to see works evolve across the two days, from bold colour fields to beautifull final prints.
A big thank you to Dianne for her continued generosity in sharing her knowledge and returning to teach at WPS each year. And a special thanks as well to Tamsin Salehian, our workshop coordinator, for all the behind-the-scenes organisation that helps make these workshops run so smoothly.
