🌿 Throwback Tuesday! 🛝

On Tuesday morning, our Preschool children enjoyed a wonderful excursion to our local playground!

The children had a fantastic time exploring the community and discovering road signs, bus stop, buses, a tennis court, basketball activities and council workers mowing the reserve.

Our little explorers enjoyed climbing, balancing, running, throwing and catching, while practising sharing and turn-taking with others.

They also enjoyed nature play, collecting sticks and leaves to create a pretend “fireplace” together.

A fun morning of exploring, learning and connecting with our community! 🌿💛

Today, we are so excited to celebrate 13 wonderful years of Toys & Tots Early Learning Centre!

A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful families for your continued support, trust and partnership throughout the years. Your support means so much to our entire team, and we are truly grateful to be part of your children’s early learning journey.

Over the years, we have shared so many special moments, watched little ones grow, learn and flourish, and created beautiful memories together.

Here’s to 13 amazing years, stepping into our 14th year, and many, many more wonderful years to come! 🥳

🐍 Walkabout Reptiles Show 🦎

What an exciting and memorable experience for our children! On Tuesday, 1 September, we had the wonderful opportunity to welcome Walkabout Reptiles to our centre.

The children enjoyed an engaging and hands-on experience, learning about reptiles and getting up close to some amazing animals. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, excitement and confidence as they participated in the show.

A special thank you to Mr. Steve for visiting us and sharing his knowledge and passion for reptiles with the children. Thank you for making the experience so enjoyable and educational! 🐍🦎

🌟 JULY EVENT HIGHLIGHTS AT TOYS & TOTS ELC! 🌟

July was filled with exciting celebrations, meaningful learning experiences and lots of fun across our centre! 💛✨

🧸 Teddy Bear Picnic Day
Our children enjoyed a special picnic with their favourite teddy bears, sharing stories, food and lots of imaginative play! 🧸🧺

🚑 First Aid & Emergency Workshop with Rob Jackson
Our educators participated in an important First Aid & Emergency Workshop, strengthening their knowledge and confidence in responding to emergencies and keeping our children safe. ❤️‍🩹

🚜 National Farm Safety Week
Children explored farm animals, farm environments and important farm safety practices through engaging and hands-on learning experiences. 🐄🌾

🐕 National Dog Week
We explored our love for dogs while learning about caring for pets, animals and staying safe around them. 🐶❤️

🌙 National Pyjama Day
Our centre was filled with cosy pyjamas, smiles and fun as we celebrated National Pyjama Day and learned about helping children in need. 💤💕

🌳 National Tree Day
Children discovered the importance of trees and caring for our environment through nature-based experiences and conversations. 🌱🌳

🦷 Tooth Fairy Show Incursion
Our children enjoyed an interactive Tooth Fairy Show while learning about healthy teeth, good oral hygiene and how to care for their smiles! 🪥✨

❄️🌈 June Highlights at Toys & Tots Early Learning Centre 🌈❄️

What a fun-filled month we’ve had!

During Winter Week, our children enjoyed cosy-themed activities, sensory play, creative art experiences, and stories that celebrated the wonders of the winter season. ❄️🧣

Our Colours Week was full of bright and exciting learning! Each day, children explored a different colour through hands-on activities, songs, games, and art experiences. A big thank you to our families for dressing the children in the colour of the day and bringing a matching piece of fruit, helping us celebrate healthy eating while learning about colours. 🌈🍎🍌🍇

We also welcomed Healthy Little Heroes for their “I Can Eat a Rainbow” incursion. Children learned about the importance of eating a variety of colourful fruits and vegetables through fun, interactive activities that inspired healthy lifestyle choices. 🥕🍓🥦

Thank you, Ms. Gen, for visiting our centre this morning!

The children thoroughly enjoyed the "I Can Eat a Rainbow" program. They reflected on and shared their existing knowledge of healthy eating while extending their understanding of a wider variety of fruits and vegetables. The engaging, hands-on activities introduced them to many fruits and vegetables they had not previously encountered, helping to broaden their knowledge and build their confidence to explore and try new foods.

Thank you for delivering such an engaging and educational experience. We look forward to continuing this learning journey and fostering lifelong healthy eating habits in our Service! 😘🌈

A wonderful morning at Toys & Tots Preschool 🌈

We had so much fun delivering our ‘I Can Eat A Rainbow’ program today! From the moment the Mystery Box appeared, the children were full of questions, observations, and excitement. They eagerly helped us build a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, shared their knowledge about healthy foods, and cheered on their friends throughout the session.

What impressed us most was how confidently the children could identify different fruits and vegetables and talk about why they are good for our bodies. It was clear that healthy eating is regularly encouraged and discussed at the centre.

A big thank you to Angie and the wonderful team for welcoming us into your service. We loved hearing about the great work you’re doing to support children’s health and wellbeing and are excited about the possibility of returning for more Healthy Little Heroes adventures in the future!

🌟 May Highlights at Our Centre 🌟

What a wonderful month of learning, connection, and community we shared throughout May!

✨ Fire Ed Program – Children learned important fire safety skills through engaging and interactive experiences.

💐 Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea – A special celebration where children and families enjoyed quality time together, creating beautiful memories and showing appreciation for the important women in their lives.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 National Families Week – We celebrated the diversity and importance of families through meaningful activities that promoted belonging, inclusion, and connection.

🐣 Hatching Chicks Program – The children were fascinated as they observed the life cycle of chicks firsthand, developing their understanding of nature, growth, and responsibility.

🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week – We engaged in discussions, stories, and experiences that helped children develop respect and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contributions.
