Learning Through Paint, Numbers & Imagination!

Who said learning to count has to happen at a desk? At Lilyfield ELC, we make learning playful, meaningful and fun!

As children painted and explored their artwork, we turned it into a fun counting experience: How many birds can you see? Can you count them? What number comes next?

These simple experiences support important school readiness skills, including early numeracy, number recognition, counting, concentration, fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and following instructions.

Most importantly, children are building confidence as they learn that numbers and mathematics are part of their everyday world.

Learning through creativity, curiosity and play is how we help our little learners get ready for their next big adventure!

Celebrating Our Incredible Educators at Lilyfield ELC!

This Early Childhood Educators’ Day, we celebrated the amazing educators who bring care, passion and kindness to our children every day.

We invited our families to take part in our “Words of Kindness” Educator Appreciation Initiative, creating a special appreciation station in our foyer where families could leave heartfelt messages, thank-you notes and little care packs for our educators.

It was so beautiful to see our community come together to recognise the meaningful relationships, care and dedication our educators share with children every day.

A huge thank you to our wonderful families for making our educators feel so valued and appreciated. And to our incredible Lilyfield team, thank you for everything you do!

Exploring Light and Shadows in Our Nursery!

At Lilyfield Early Learning Centre, our babies have been immersed in the magical world of light and shadows!

Through playful exploration, the children have been discovering what happens when light meets different objects, watching shadows appear, move, and change. From shining lights through objects to exploring their own shadows, every moment has sparked curiosity and wonder.

These experiences encourage babies to observe, investigate, and make connections with the world around them while supporting early cognitive development, sensory exploration, and a love of discovery.
