Pupperoos is run by Kay Yasugi, a puppeteer, maker and teacher based in Sydney. She trained at the London School of Puppetry (UK) and is passionate about sharing the joy of puppetry with all ages. Pupperoos run a variety of workshops for children and adults (making and/or performance) and Professional Development training for teachers. Our work has been shown on ABC Play School (‘Through the Windo

w’ series) and we have also worked in theatre, including The 13-Storey Treehouse (a stage show based on the children’s book by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton) and the War Horse Australia Arts Learning Programme. We love collaborating with artists, schools and puppetry enthusiasts to bring puppet projects to life - from shadow theatre, rod puppetry to even Giant puppets! ✨The bunny is out of the hat! 🐰🎩✨

I had the joy of creating and puppeteering two rabbit glove puppets, “Whiskers the Wondrous,” for Canva's holiday campaign! 🐇🎄Working with the brilliant team at Canva, we brought Whiskers to life as the lovable magician’s assistant to Stella, played wonderfully by Ash Allerton and Jude McCrann.

The campaign follows Stella’s heartwarming journey to rediscover her Spark ✨, and I’m so grateful to have been part of such a special project (with puppets)!

Whiskers has been featured in some other Canva campaigns following this one, with the brilliant Fiona Gentle as puppeteer.
