Our community is processing immense grief and shock following the devastating violence that occurred at Bondi Beach during the recent Hanukkah celebration.
This was a senseless act that has caused deep pain and taken innocent lives.
Our deepest and most sincere condolences go out to absolutely everyone affected. This includes those who lost family members, friends, or loved ones, those who were injured, and the many who witnessed this horrific event.
In the face of pure darkness, we witnessed moments of extraordinary light and humanity. We must acknowledge and honour the incredible heroes who ran toward danger and put their own lives at risk to protect others.Their selfless acts remind us of the strength and spirit that defines our community. They saved lives and showed the world what courage truly looks like.
To those whose lives have been forever changed by this tragedy, please know our thoughts are with you.

Fantastic opportunity for UTS to train with Toyo University over the past few days in Tokyo, Japan. We had a great experience training with, and learning from, the university kendo athletes. Our sincere thanks to Kon Sensei for the opportunity and we wish Toyo University well in their future tournaments! We hope to see you all again!

Many UTS Kendo Club members (we had more memberd on the first day, but the photo is from the second day 😅) attended Kamei Sensei's seminar hosted by the Sydney Kendo club. Along with Nanahara sensei (7 Dan), it was a valuable experience to learn Kendo under Kamei sensei (8 Dan). We hope to see Kamei sensei in near future.

UTS KENDO: MEET OUR 2025 AUTUMN BEGINNERS
Everyone has their own approach to kendo. Dylan's experience in sports like volleyball and basketball give him a physical edge and a natural sense of competitiveness even in kendo.
Now he shares his insights and challenges as a sportsman and kendo practitioner, from cultivating peculiar mindsets to comparisons with other sports.

UTS KENDO: MEET OUR 2025 AUTUMN BEGINNERS
Zaara is a 3rd year Bachelor of Information Technology student that joined our trial session on a whim.
She's since grown to learn that a sharp mind is just as strong as a quick sword - especially in this martial art testing discipline and willpower.
Backed by her supportive sensei, senpai and fellow Autumn beginners, she continues to persevere in kendo, unfazed by her physical limitations.
Stay tuned over the next weeks as we introduce you to other vibrant members of our club!

UTS KENDO: MEET OUR 2025 AUTUMN BEGINNERS
Jonathan Ham is in his first year studying Computer Science.
He believes kendo has enhanced his communication skills, and his capacity to learn from studies by gaining the confidence to speak his mind to his teachers.
He recommends kendo to anyone up for a rewarding physical and mental challenge.
Our Spring beginner's program closes on the 19th of August.
Hope to see you there!
