Palletable Furniture is recycled timber furniture created by youth at risk people in Sydney as part Palletable Furniture has 3 goals:
1.

These beautiful wooden items are hand made in 'Introduction to Construction' classes taught across Sydney. This is an outreach based project, co-ordinated and taught by Philip Clarke, who takes a hands on approach helping hard core youth at risk of homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse and mental illness. He currently works with kids through Father Chris O'Rielly's Youth Off The Streets and other c

ommunity funded organisations. Philip is a dedicated and skilled educator who has been running these classes for youth out of a mobile van, and has been largely self-funded to date. Market the great wood work produced in class to the public
2. Raise much needed funds to continue and expand the initiative
3. Provide independence for those involved

Proudly 'up-cycled' and 're-cycled' each piece can take up to 2 weeks to complete. Please support local enterprise and skills exchange - buy a piece, offer some tools or donate timber for future projects. Get involved helping others help themselves. Proceeds go back to purchasing materials and further developing this social enterprise.

I have a quamity of decorated reader boxes complete with books and pre achool blocks for disribution in the St George and Sutherland shire areas ideal for Pre Schools or business eg coffee shops. This is targetted towards early chilhood literacy and numeracy. Please share this post. If you have childrens books you wish to donate for the reader boxes let us know. :)

You have the projects DIY we can give you technical advice online theough F B etc. If any of our fb friends have any basic hand tools we want to set up some basic tool kits we can loan out for people with no access to tools for their projects at no charge. We are looking to our facebook friends to get involved ro filll these boxes with books, food . school needs, tools or any ideas you may have. Palletable is having a sale all recycled timber herb planter boxes $15-00. Cheese boards $10-00. Spice racks $10-00 and tools boxea $10-00. All proceeds go back into purchasing materials to buy naterials for european honey bee hive boxes .pollen to feed bees and cartle and sheep pellets to feed livestock in the drought and bushfire affected areas of the mid north coast. Palletable furniture has just completed a pop up work ship constructing habitat boxes for endangered species eg pigmy possum and the sugar glider. These are bound for the bushfire region of the South Coast. Please advise us if you are interested in participating in any future workshops re. Construction of habitat boxes for native wildlife. . Palletable furniture has hust finished a Community outreach project supplying 12 Utility boxes and a quantity of insect hotes.to Marrickville Connect for a childrens literacy program and Library of Things Sutberland Shire some of the boxes were passed on to a drought relief iniative in Armidalle for a childrens christmas oresent drive.
