🌿🖤💛❤️ Celebrated NAIDOC Week Through Sensory Art ❤️💛🖤🌿

We celebrated NAIDOC Week through a colourful, creative and hands-on sensory-art experience! 🎨✨

Our children explored the meaningful colours of black, yellow and red using safe, edible yoghurt paint. They enjoyed touching, mixing, spreading and creating beautiful patterns with their fingers and hands. 🖐️🖤💛❤️ One curious little artist even decided their hair needed a splash of colour too! 😄🎨

The children also explored Aboriginal symbols, practised drawing boomerang shapes 🪃 and had lots of fun making emu sounds and moving like emus! 🐦👣🎶

This meaningful experience supported creativity, sensory exploration, fine-motor skills, movement and a respectful introduction to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. 🌏🤝💫

🍃➕🍂 Learning Addition Through Nature! 🔢✨

Our children had so much fun exploring simple addition using leaves collected from nature! 🌿💚

They carefully counted one group of leaves, added another group, and discovered how many there were altogether. For example:

🍃🍃 + 🍃🍃🍃 = 5 🎉👏

This hands-on school-readiness experience made mathematics exciting and meaningful while strengthening children’s counting, number recognition, problem-solving and early addition skills. 🧠🔢📚

We loved seeing their concentration, teamwork and proud smiles as they worked out each answer! 😊🌟🙌

Our Koala children enjoyed a fun and meaningful school readiness numeracy experience using addition picture cards today! 🔢🌟

With educator guidance, the children carefully looked at the pictures on each card, counted one by one, discussed their thinking, and shared their answers with growing confidence. 👀🧠🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

This hands-on experience encouraged the children to explore early addition in a simple and engaging way. They worked together, listened to each other’s ideas, and practised using mathematical language while solving number problems. 🍎➕🍎

As the children counted, matched, and added the pictures, they were developing important early learning skills, including:

Our Big Penguins enjoyed a beautiful and creative flower garden experience today! 🌼🎨

The children used flower templates and coloured pencils to design their own colourful gardens, carefully choosing colours, exploring flower shapes, and adding their own special touches. 🌈✏️ Some children selected bright and bold colours, while others enjoyed mixing different shades to make their gardens look extra unique and beautiful. 💛💚💜

As they coloured, the children showed wonderful focus, patience and creativity. They were also very proud to share their artwork with their friends and educators, building confidence, communication skills and a lovely sense of achievement. 🥰👏

The learning then continued with a hands-on sensory flower garden experience 🌿🌻 where the children explored earthy colours and painted using cotton tips. This encouraged them to explore different textures, colours and creative techniques while using their imagination and senses. 🤲🎨✨

Our little learners enjoyed a fun and engaging dinosaur sensory exploration, filled with digging, discovering and hands-on learning! 🦕🌈✨

The activity was set up in a large tuff tray, divided into two exciting sensory areas — one with lentils and one with sand. The children explored both sides based on their interest, using scoops, shovels, trucks, containers and magnifying glasses to search, pour, dig and investigate. 🪣🚜🔍

As they explored, the children looked closely at the lentil granules, sand, baby dinosaurs and other sensory materials using the magnifying glasses. This encouraged their curiosity, observation skills, sensory awareness and language development as they talked about what they could see, feel and discover. 🔍🦖🌈

This experience also supported fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, colour recognition, problem-solving, sharing and turn-taking as the children explored alongside their peers. 🤝💛✨

Our little learners had a wonderful time engaging in a fun and meaningful preschool readiness experience with their educator, focusing on the 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂! 🧒👧📚✏️

During this activity, the children were introduced to both 𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐂 and 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐜. They practised saying the “c” sound 🗣️, explored simple phonics, and identified familiar words that begin with the “c” sound, such as 𝐜𝐚𝐭 🐱, 𝐜𝐚𝐫 🚗, 𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞 🍰 and 𝐜𝐮𝐩 ☕.

The children also enjoyed tracing the 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂, helping to support their early writing skills, pencil grip, hand-eye coordination and fine motor development. ✍️🖍️✨

Alongside their literacy learning, the children also practised counting from 1 to 10 🔢 and explored 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 ⭕ and 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬 🔺 through recognising, naming and tracing activities.

This beautiful learning experience encouraged our children to listen carefully 👂, repeat sounds 🗣️, recognise letters 🔤, explore shapes 🔺⭕, count together 🔢 and build confidence as early learners. With gentle educator guidance, each child was supported at their own pace while developing important foundations for future literacy, numeracy and school readiness. 🌈📖✨

What a beautiful celebration we had for all the amazing mothers, grandmothers and special women in our children’s lives! 💕✨

Our families enjoyed a lovely morning tea with a variety of teas, delicious coffees, freshly made sandwiches and special muffins prepared with love by our wonderful chef. 🫖☕🥪🧁

The day was filled with smiles, laughter, warm conversations and a beautiful celebratory vibe. Our educators and children also helped create a special Mother’s Day photo frame, adding a lovely touch to the celebration. 📸🌷🎨

What a wonderful day of cooking, creativity and fun at Rainbow Hut Early Learning Centre! Our little chefs had an amazing time making delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies during their hands-on cooking experience. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🍪

The children enjoyed measuring, mixing, rolling and baking while building confidence, independence, teamwork and early life skills. They also explored art and craft, music, movement, puzzles and enjoyed a lovely shared lunch with their friends. 🎨🎶🧩🍽️

Our MasterChef-inspired activity was full of laughter, learning and excitement — and of course, the best part was tasting the yummy cookies at the end! 😋✨
