Today some of our Stage 3 students participated in the next Masterminds championships. We had some individual wins and the team did very well overall.
They had a great time and all were so enthusiastic and engaged. They had a Science challenge, where they tested the viscosity of different liquids, a persuasive writing challenge and geography inspired trivia.

Over 2 special days, our students took part in the Djalgala Aboriginal Dance Incursion, an experience centred on culture, language, dance and connection to Country.

We began with a whole-school assembly, where our 4 Aboriginal students participated in ochre face painting and a sweeping ceremony, and the whole school joined together to sing Inanay.

Throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, classes participated in sessions in the hall, learning about Aboriginal dance, language and the meaning behind the movements as they developed a deeper connection to Country through dance.

The experience culminated on Wednesday afternoon with our whole school coming together to perform the dance—a wonderful celebration of learning, culture and connection.

Our Year 6 students had an absolutely wonderful time at Collaroy Camp! They took on some exciting challenges, including rock climbing, high tops, the zip line and laser tag.

We were so proud of the way our students embraced each activity, supporting one another and representing Canley Vale Public School so positively. They were exceptionally well behaved and demonstrated fantastic teamwork, courage and enthusiasm throughout the camp.

It was a fantastic Year 6 experience filled with fun, adventure and memories to cherish! A big thank you to the staff who attended - Mr Towers, Mr Johnstone, Miss Bano, Miss Dang, Ms Wong, Mrs Vallejos, and Mrs Toevai for taking the time out and away from their own families, to stay for three days and two nights with our students, to provide this wonderful opportunity.
