Last week, we gathered with our friends from and to close out 2025 the way we love best – together, over beautiful food (from the wonderful team at ) and good conversation.
People came through the doors with stories of the year behind them and dreams for the year ahead. We shared a meal, had a proper yarn, and celebrated the incredible missions everyone in this room is working on. It's moments like these that remind us why we do this work...
2025 was a very big year for the Digital Storytellers team. We've watched this community grow, spark new collaborations, and tell stories that are shifting perspectives. And we're so grateful to everyone who's been part of it.
We've got exciting things brewing for 2026... but more on that soon.
For now, it's time to rest, reset, and recharge.

A few weeks ago, friends, partners and neighbours gathered with us for an inaugural smoking ceremony led by our friends from Dhinawan Yarn and Entertainment , Aboriginal storytellers and cultural educators.
It was a moment to honour Country, welcome and ground us in the space, and mark a new chapter for the Impact Story Lab — a powerful way to come together in respect, gratitude and community as we officially opened our new home 🍃.
Thanks to everyone that came and joined us for this very special moment!
We're continuing to reflect on what the Impact Story Lab means to our partners and residents. This time, we asked Camila, one of our residents, to share what the Lab means to her and what she enjoys most about being here. Camila works as a consultant for impact-driven organisations. She works from home but uses the Lab as her city base — a place to connect, collaborate, and be around people doing similar work.
We asked her to sum it all up in one word. For her, it was SPARK.
"For me, it comes back to connection. Remote work has given us flexibility, but it's also stripped away the in-between moments that make collaboration powerful. Not the official meetings, but the spark that comes from bumping into someone at the kettle, sketching an idea on a whiteboard, or sharing lunch when the conversation suddenly turns into strategy."
