We are very pleased to announce a new strategic collaboration between IDAT and UCL, focused on advancing research on AI literacy. It is an exciting milestone for IDAT and AI for Education.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape how people learn, work, and participate in society, there is a growing need for research that moves beyond technical proficiency to address the social, ethical, and educational dimensions of AI. This collaboration brings together academic expertise and international perspectives to explore what it truly means to be AI literate in a rapidly evolving world.
The partnership will support research on responsible AI literacy by drawing on UCL’s world-leading academic resources across computer science, artificial intelligence, and education. Through this interdisciplinary approach, IDAT and UCL share a commitment to producing rigorous, socially grounded research that can inform education, policy, and public understanding of AI.
Looking ahead, in 2026 IDAT will also launch a new assessment initiative, IDAT for AI. This project will be designed to assess students for entry into an AI literacy programme that fosters essential AI understanding, strengthens practical innovation and problem-solving skills, and helps identify students with strong potential in artificial intelligence and related fields.
We look forward to a fruitful 2026 for IDAT and the continued development of AI literacy worldwide.
