Reconciliation Week šā¤ļøš¤
This Reconciliation Week, our Montessori children are learning with their hearts and hands to honour the oldest living culture on Country. They listened to Dreaming stories with curiosity, joined in music and movement with clap sticks, explored nature by collecting leaves and talking about caring for Country, and created art inspired by Aboriginal symbols. In these moments they showed respect, asked thoughtful questions, and connected deeply with the land we learn on.
This engagement aligns with EYLF V2.0 outcomes children develop a sense of belonging by connecting with Country and community, and build respect for cultural diversity through meaningful interactions. It also reflects NQS 1.1.1, 1.2.1, 2.1.2 & 6.1.2 embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into programs, supporting cultural competence, and strengthening partnerships with community.
When children learn respect early, they carry it forward. Weāre so proud of how theyāre growing as caring custodians of the future.
