Sorry for the delay, I completely forgot 😮Unedited and unfiltered so probably a lot of repeats and blurry unflattering shots. Just want to get them up before I forget all about them. I'm sure AI can fix them to your liking.

The “We can do it” attitude continued today when a small team of members, completed essential repairs to the North Shed doors where the door support tracks needed to be replaced. Thanks to Phil who pre prepared what was needed to complete this job in just one day and our team for the work completed.
Our Boat sheds were originally built by members approximately 1960, and the track system and doors were previously replaced about 30 years ago

A bit more history with a photo sourced from Seactaft magazine November 1960, which detailed that Skates was one of the strongest clubs with 15 registered, whereby a Skate Class division was created, in previous seasons the Skates raced in an Open division (over 14 Ft). Of note too the Starting box location on the roof of the South Shed

More from the archives of PHOSC, where a series of photos detail the social side of our club in the 1960's and from a local newspaper article it reads " SAILING CLUB ANNUAL SWIMMING CARNIVAL
The Annual Swimming Carnival of the Port Hacking Sailing Club, was held at the home of Mr. Fenwick, of Willarong Road, Caringbah last Saturday under the able chairmanship of Mr. Jask Shaw.
Photo’s show heats of relay and water polo events. A barbecue was held at the conclusion of the Carnival."
Just wondering if the Fenwick family descendants are still in the area, and anyone recognises the youth in the photo, who would all be aged in their 80's now.

Another memory from the PHOSC archives, dated approximately 1960, location Jibbon Beach. In times gone by we used to enjoy a beach picnic and race on the Cronulla SC inshore course, which also became a combined club event, with Cronulla, Burraneer and Bundeena sailing clubs. In the photo boats featured are a Heavyweight Sharpie, VJ's, Moth and Skates. I could not identify any Herons which were to become a strong class in all the clubs of the Sutherland Shire. If anyone remembers more please leave a comment

For anyone who missed this story which was written and published by St George & Sutherland Shire Leader Wednesday 6 May 2026.
Peter passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved most—sailing his Heron dinghy. A fixture of the Port Hacking Open Sailing Club, Peter’s passion for the water was matched only by his dedication to his family. His absence leaves a profound hole in our community and, most acutely, in the lives of his wife, Rose, and their two sons, Stewart and James.
On behalf of the friends and family of Peter Connor, our club is reaching out to ask for support during an incredibly difficult time., and on that basis a Go Fund Me donation page has been created please see https://gofund.me/66787e569 for more information
