Our biggest book week to date ma Sha Allah, combined with a special author talk & book reading.
Our homeschooled kids did not disappoint, they exceeded expectations and amazed us with their creative and interactive displays. Their love for books showed through their speeches, with many first timers overcoming their nervousness on stage and repeat presenters growing in confidence.
Brother Abubakir Rafiq joined us for an author talk for his book “We can’t buy that”, a beautifully written and illustrated book addressing the concept of boycotting for children. We also discussed advocacy, his time on the freedom flotilla and the writing/publishing process. He left us with beautiful and inspiring words and take away lessons; speaking out and standing up against injustice, using the skills Allah entrusted us with and our privilege to serve our community and ummah, keeping our connection and relationship with Allah strong and calling on him in all situations. Jazaka Allah kheir brother Abubakir Rafiq for taking the time out to speak to our community. Highly recommend everyone grabs a copy of his book.

A fantastic opportunity to explore the Future Now exhibition at Stanhope Gardens by the Australian Museum for our homeschoolers and mums 😊. The activities were brilliantly designed making it engaging for all the kids, getting them to really think what was important in a sustainable world.

Our primary kids worked in groups designed future environments with trees + turbines. Talking about what a sustainable future needs in their landscapes.

Older kids played a climate challenge game and ran the numbers on wellbeing vs budget. They worked together and debated what was crucial for the survival of their society they built together.

Stories of happy childhoods turned into stories of war and seeking refuge. The amazing students of the *Refugee Stories* production shared their experiences and hardships living in war torn countries but also their joy of new beginnings. Important lessons of empathy, gratitude, conpassion fortitude and perseverance for our children.
