Today on Mabo Day, Wattle Roaders celebrated the legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo, whose landmark case for Indigenous land rights shaped Australian history. In early childhood education, students honour Eddie’s legacy by fostering respect, understanding, and appreciation for Indigenous cultures and histories.

🌿 National Reconciliation Week 2024 at Wattle Road Early Education Centre 🌿

This week, we join hands in acknowledging and celebrating National Reconciliation Week. It’s a time for our students to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Our Educators have enjoyed leading lessons for Wattle Roaders across our centre, focusing on the National Reconciliation Week theme of "Now More Than Ever".

This week, Wattle Road students made a wreath to honour the men and women who so bravely fought and are remembered everyday, and are commemorated on ANZAC Day. We learnt about the tradition and history of this special day. Our wreath was laid at the memorial at Dee Why Beach. Lest we forget 🌺
