Health Promotion Western Sydney have launched a new page and are running a spring gardening give away to build up their fan base.

🌿🍂🌺 We know we have some gardening enthusiasts at Lethbridge Park PS, with our Kitchen & Garden After School Club and all the amazing work Mrs Kalic, Mr Portokalis and staff have been doing in the garden by the Mariana Crescent gate.

We are thrilled and honoured to share some exciting news with you all. Smarties Preschool and Long Day Care Centre has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Local Business Award!
This recognition is a testament to our team’s hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support we have received from all of you.
We also want to acknowledge our incredible team who consistently goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service and memorable experiences for our families.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

Smarties Preschool and Long Day Care Centre would like to wish all our children, families and communities a happy Valentine’s Day!
We would like to spread a message of love and affection that needs to be shared across the land. Let this day be a symbol of our true and meaningful love and care that we show to our families and communities each day.
As part of our learning, our children are being taught and modelled in how to share and navigate their emotions and effectively express them to each other.

Smarties Preschool and Long Day Care celebrated another great year with our Christmas concert and graduation ceremony.
The staff, children and families enjoyed the evening very much. Each room showcased their performances and it was amazing to see how confident our preschool children have become in their public speaking. It was a joy to see our toddlers and babies enjoying the music and exploring movement.

The staff also celebrated the end of a great year with a dinner after our concert. We reflected on the year and are so grateful for each family who entrusted the care of their children to us in 2022. Looking forward to 2023, to grow and learn together for another year!

Smarties Preschool had a visitor to teach us “living safely with Dogs". Ms. Yvonne told the children how they should have grownups with them when they are around dogs. Our dog visitor’s name is "Fame" and he is 10 years old. Such a fluffy and beautiful dog. We learnt how to never disturb a dog if he is eating or sleeping "We let him be". No owner! No lead! No touch! We then enjoyed a song and dance of "let him be". If you see any angry dog, Stop, stand still, keep hands down by your side, stay quiet as a mouse, and head down to the ground. Don’t ever stare the dog into their eyes, and back up slowly. We then learned about "Stop, Smell, Pat". Before patting we roll our thumb inside of hand and let hand flop down for dog to smell. Step to the side of dog, pat gently along the dogs back. All our children enjoyed the experience and information.

Today is R U OK? Day - a day where we are encouraged and reminded of the importance of checking in with one another.

We encourage you to reach out to those around you and start a meaningful conversation. You don’t need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.

We are practicing good listening and being kind at Smarties, today and everyday.

Today we celebrated Educators’ Day at Smarties Preschool and Long Day Care centre.
Each educator was appreciated for their continuous service, support and hard work. We love each of our educators (the ones pictured and those who were not present) and are grateful for all of them.

We celebrated Father’s Day at Smarties Preschool and Long Day Care this week
The children, fathers and staff had a wonderful time singing, dancing and playing games together.
We are very proud of all of our fathers, step fathers, grand fathers and father figures who came out today and were celebrated 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Harmony day celebration at Smarties Preschool and long day care centre

This is a day for us all to remember, celebrate and respect our diverse cultural backgrounds and to share what we have in common.

As a symbol of unity, our staff and children all wore different shades of orange today and shared various cultural food and music.

The central message of Harmony day is that “everyone belongs” which helps to remind us that each and every individual is important!

This is something small our service has started to help support those around us who may need it. It’s a chance for us all to give back and be generous in a time where everyone is withdrawing.
Let’s be mindful of others during this time and lend a hand where we can 💕
