UNSW Queer Collective

The UNSW Q***r Collective is a student organisation focused on education and community. The Q***r Collective protects the anonymity of our members online.

The Q***r Collective meets weekly and hosts a wide range of events, activities, and initiatives throughout the year. It is an autonomous safe space to meet other LGBTQIA+ students, learn about q***r issues and history, and get involved in events, activities, and initiatives both on and off-campus. Please be assured that only other members of the autonomous Facebook group will be able to see you are a member of the group. Your Q***r Officers for 2022/2023 are Liora Hoenig (She/They) and Pepsi (They/Them). The UNSW Q***r Collective is a de-colonial, anti-homophobic, anti-transphobic, anti-q***rphobic, anti-racist, anti-ableist, and pro-sex worker space. The UNSW Q***r Collective acknowledges that all our activities and actions are done on Bidjigal and Gadigal land of the Eora Nation, and we recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. We wish to pay our respects to Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander elders past, present, and emerging - extending that respect to any and all Indigenous and/or Torres Strait Islander LGBTQIA+ UNSW students.

Hello everyone! We are currently looking for any volunteers who would like to help out with our Diversity Festival Stall. The activity will be bracelet making and will be held at the quad on Wednesday 23rd September 10AM-4PM! We are mainly looking for those who are able to/willing to set up half an hour beforehand (ie. bring some things from q***r space such as stickers, q***r guide, gay horse badges).

Depending on how many people come by to help out, we may begin late or finish early based on everyone's availability. If you are interested in helping please dm us! Thanks everyone 💖

hello everyone our weekly meetings for this term will be 1-2pm again every Friday at the Q***r Space!!

if you're wondering what happens during our weekly meetings, we will:

- update you on the latest things happening for q***r people in and out of campus
- talk about the src meetings and what happens in them
- usually look up some youtube video and watch it together
- hang out

if you cant make it dont worry we will post the slides in the -meetings channel on Discord after!!

and finally remember that the meetings can also be your time too! if you have anything you want to say or present to the rest of the collective feel free to hijack our meeting

Volunteers needed for Term 3 O-Day!
Hello everyone!
Q***rCo will be stalling at Term 3 O-Day under SRC's stall and we are looking for any volunteers willing to help out on the day! We are ideally looking for fellow q***rs who are able to converse in more than one languages when talking to students. We also hope to have the translated q***r guide in many different languages at the stall.

If this is something you are interested in, feel free to DM us your availabilities for Monday 7th September and your level of proficiency in speaking in another language/dialect!
