Kids Giving Back mission is to Create the Next Generation of Generosity

Kids Giving Back provide hands-on, age appropriate, meaningful volunteering opportunities for young people ages 6-18. Our mission is to create the next generation of generosity, our vision is to create a better more accepting society, based on empathy and understanding, one child at a time. Our work has a double impact - benefitting communities who are assisted by young people volunteering, as well as impacting young people and families as they experience the joy and wellness benefits of giving back. At a time where the world is in crisis on so many fronts, the benefits to our young people and communities could hardly be greater. Kids Giving Back was established in 2012, we are a non-denominational organisation and we work with families and schools across Greater Sydney.

We’re so incredibly grateful to Gaslight Pharmacy for donating more than 4,000 units of essentials for The Big Give Back, including deodorant, tissues and Band-Aids!

These everyday items will be packed by our amazing volunteers into care packs for people doing it tough. It’s a small way to show someone they’re cared for, supported and not forgotten. 🧡

Thank you, Gaslight Pharmacy, for helping our young volunteers make a real difference in our community. We couldn’t do it without you!

School holidays full of heart 🧡

A huge thank you to every amazing kid who spent part of their spring school holidays cooking, packing and giving back with us across Woolloomooloo, Parramatta and the Northern Beaches.

You brought the energy, the helping hands and the kindness! Every meal you cooked, care pack you packed and letter you wrote helped someone in our community doing it tough.

Over two weeks, here’s what we achieved together:

🙌 655 participants
📍 21 programs across 3 locations
🤝 11 charity partners supported
🍽️ 3,700 meals
📦 2,311 assorted packs
🍰 263 no-bake cheesecakes
💌 232 letters to elderly people

We hope you’re heading back to school feeling proud of the difference you’ve made, with a few new friends and kitchen skills too!

And this lovely feedback from one parent says so much about why we do what we do:

“My daughter Agnes attended the Kids Giving Back Woolloomooloo program and had a wonderful experience. The activities were engaging, well organised, and provided a meaningful way for children to learn about kindness, empathy, and helping others in the community. She particularly enjoyed being involved in hands-on activities that allowed her to give back while having fun. It was inspiring to see young children encouraged to make a positive difference, and Agnes left feeling proud of what she had contributed. Thank you for creating such a valuable and rewarding volunteering experience for children and families.”

The BIG GiveBack is only TWO WEEKS away, and we need your help spreading the word!

On Sunday 25 October, families from across Sydney will come together for a meaningful morning of hands-on giving, preparing meals and care packs for people doing it tough.

So many people in our community need our support more than ever. Together, let’s make this our BIGGEST event yet and get more meals and care packs to people going without.

With cooking, packing and plenty of fun along the way, it’s also a great introduction to volunteering for families and kids who have never tried it before!

Work mates. Little helpers. And a whole lot of giving back! 🙌🧡

This morning we welcomed the VivCourt team and their families to our Hub for a Corporate Family Cook4Good program!

Together they made breakfast boxes, lunch boxes, care packs and hot meals for people doing it tough, plus thoughtful letters to brighten the day of older members of our community 💌

A beautiful way to spend time together and show kids the difference they can make through kindness and volunteering.
