Last Friday, our IT students visited Integrate 2026 at ICC Sydney, Australia’s leading exhibition for AV and integrated technology.

From AI, IT networking and smart displays to digital media, smart buildings and business technology, our students gained valuable exposure to the latest innovations and saw how classroom knowledge is applied in real industry settings.

Rosehill College is investing in a brand-new, professional electrical training workshop in Lane Cove West—designed to provide a more spacious, realistic and industry-focused practical learning environment.

⚡ Australia’s AI boom will need more than technology—it will need skilled electrical workers.

The rapid growth of AI is driving major investment in data centres, power systems and supporting infrastructure across Australia.

According to a recent ABC News report, Australia may require an additional 72,000 electricians, technicians and related tradespeople by 2030 to meet projected demand. Data centre development alone is estimated to require another 13,000 energy trades workers.
Australia currently has around 162 operational data centres, with approximately 130 more proposed. As data centres, housing, renewable energy and major infrastructure projects progress at the same time, competition for skilled electrical workers is expected to intensify.
It is an important reminder that the AI era will not be powered by technology professionals alone. It will also depend on skilled tradespeople who can help build, connect and maintain the infrastructure behind it.
