📚✨ Book Week is officially in full swing at Miranda Pre-Kindergarten! ✨📚

We absolutely love seeing our children bring their favourite books and characters to life through their fun and creative costumes! 📖💫

This week, we’ve had an amazing time learning all about the letter Nn! The children explored the letter through a fun shaving foam sensory experience, encouraging early literacy while developing their fine motor skills.

Our toddlers also enjoyed bringing The Very Hungry Caterpillar to life with a colourful sensory pasta tray, sparking their imaginations and encouraging hands-on exploration.

To top it all off, everyone had a fantastic time dancing and moving during our Happy Feet session on Wednesday! It has been a week full of fun, learning, and laughter. 💚🦋🔤🎶

Our July Transport theme is officially underway! We started with vehicle painting, and the children are absolutely loving it. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm shine as they explore all things transport. 🚗🚜🚔

This month, our children have been exploring the wonderful world of animals!

They had so much fun engaging in a sensory play experience, searching through “seaweed” to discover the animals hiding beneath the sea. 🌊

Sensory play encourages curiosity, supports fine motor development, and sparks imaginative learning.

What are Play Schemas? 🧠✨

Play schemas are repeated patterns of play that children naturally explore as they learn about the world around them. You might notice your child constantly carrying items, wrapping things up, spinning objects, lining toys up, or building and knocking things down — this is all important learning through play!

Schemas help children develop problem-solving, coordination, creativity, confidence and early thinking skills.

Play schemas are most commonly seen from birth to around 5 years, but older children may continue to explore them too.

At Miranda Pre-Kindergarten, we value children’s interests and use schema play to support meaningful, hands-on learning experiences every day 💛
