🚽✨ Toilet training is a journey, not a race! Every child develops at their own pace, and recognising when they are ready can make all the difference.

One of the first signs of readiness is children becoming aware of when they are wet and beginning to cue that they want their nappy changed or removed. Small steps, like offering a sit on the toilet during each nappy change, can help build confidence and familiarity in a positive, pressure-free way 💜

We’ve put together this helpful guide for families to support your toilet training journey at home. Remember — patience, consistency and celebrating the little wins go a long way! 🌟

Have questions about toilet training? Our educators are always here to help 🤍

We absolutely LOVE exploring art and craft in early childhood! 🎨✨

Creative experiences give children the opportunity to express themselves, explore their imaginations, and proudly showcase their unique ideas. Whether we are painting, cutting, gluing, drawing, or creating with different materials, every craft experience supports children’s learning and development in meaningful ways.

Through art, children are building fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, problem-solving skills, communication, confidence, and independence — all while having so much fun!

These experiences align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF):
• Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
• Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

Our craft experiences also support QA1 – Educational Program and Practice by encouraging hands-on learning, creativity, exploration, and active engagement within our learning environment. 💜💙

✏️🔤 Building Confident Learners Through Letter Recognition 🔤✏️

At Miranda Pre Kindy, we embed letter recognition and early literacy into our everyday play-based curriculum, creating meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for children. Through hands-on experiences like matching letters, tracing, sensory play, and mark-making, children are developing confidence in recognising letters, forming shapes, and understanding that print has meaning.

Our environments are intentionally set up to encourage exploration of letters, sounds and symbols, supporting children to build the foundational skills needed for school readiness in a fun and supportive way.

We are also lucky to have Miss Corinne, who visits each week during term time to deliver a dedicated 1-hour school readiness program. These sessions focus on important early learning skills including pencil grip, writing, letter and number recognition, and early phonics, helping to prepare children for a smooth and confident transition to school.

These experiences align with the EYLF Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators, as children engage with texts, symbols and early literacy concepts, as well as Outcome 4, developing confidence as learners.

🌺 Lest We Forget 🌺

From all the educators at Miranda Pre-Kindergarten we take a moment to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of the ANZACs. Through respectful discussions and experiences, we support children in developing an understanding of remembrance, gratitude, and community.

We remember those who have served, and those who continue to serve.

❤️ Lest we forget ❤️

Dear families,

This week we will be commemorating ANZAC Day at our centre through a variety of sensory, craft, and group experiences, supporting children to develop an understanding of remembrance, respect, and community.

“Lest we forget.”

We would also like to acknowledge and thank all of our defence and frontline families in our community. Your strength, sacrifice, and service do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for all that you do.

Please also remember that we will be closed for the observed public holiday.🌹
