✨ Gospel Reflection by Sr Margaret Ghosn mshf✨

The Feast of the Assumption invites us to reflect on Mary's complete devotion to God and her willingness to place His will above everything else. Through the Magnificat, Mary celebrates God's justice, mercy, and care for those in need while showing that true blessedness comes from living in communion with Him. Her life inspires us to deepen our own relationship with God and to serve others with humility. The final message is that lasting joy and grace are found in faithfully following God's will and caring for those around us.

β›ͺ πŸ™ The Feast of the Assumption marks a very special occasion for the Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family, as it's the Foundation Day of this blessed Congregation that was founded by the Venerable Patriarch Elias Howayek in Lebanon, 1895.

πŸŽ‰ To commemorate this blessed feast, the MCHF community gathered for mass on Thursday 13th August, and our staff gathered for a morning tea celebration to mark the occasion.

πŸ₯° The Sisters have been a blessing to our Maronite community in Australia for many years, sharing Christ’s love and faith through their service. Their mission has reached far beyond, bringing hope and light to communities around the world.

🀝 In our parishes, schools, and through their care for the wider community, they nurture and educate our children, care for those who are vulnerable, and proudly preserve our Maronite faith, traditions, and heritage for future generations.

πŸ’– Today, with joyful and grateful hearts, we thank God for the gift of their dedication and service. We pray that their mission in Australia and beyond will continue to flourish for many blessed and fruitful years to come.

πŸ™ Thank you to Elyssa Wehbe, Year10 student photographer, for capturing these images in mass.

The day involved Reconciliation, participation in Mass as well as group activities about leadership and unity, deep reflection as well as an incredibly valuable talk about Blessed Patriarch Elias Howayek delivered by Sr Margaret.
πŸ’–The Year 11s gained a lot from the day as they begin the preparations for their end of course exams in a few weeks.

Year 1 had a fun time at Sydney Zoo! πŸ¦πŸ’

Students loved seeing so many amazing animals and learning fun facts about them.

Our visit helped us with the informative texts we've been writing in class, and it was exciting to see our favourite animals up close. We had a fantastic day filled with learning, laughter and adventure! πŸ™Œ
