πŸ€” Would you rather...

A) Perform a vehicle safety check and fix up any issues before your trip πŸ”§
B) Breakdown in the middle of nowhere πŸ˜°πŸ—ΊοΈ

We know what our answer is! Before you get behind the wheel this holiday season, go through the checklist in the comments and ensure everything is in working order πŸ‘‡

If you're drinking this holiday season, you need a Plan B. Make sure you've sorted out how you're getting home BEFORE you have your first drink.

☎️ phone a friend
πŸš‰ hop on public transport
πŸš• hail a taxi
πŸ“² schedule a ride-share pick-up

What's your Plan B?

In 2025, 355 people lost their lives on our state's roads. Sadly that's 28 more people than last year.

Each one a child, partner, parent, sibling or friend whose life ended in a moment. πŸ’›

Speeding, drink driving and fatigue were the top factors. Please slow down, stay alert, and never drive impaired or tired.

πŸšπŸ‘€ Think the bus driver can see you in their side mirrors? Think again!

Due to their large size, buses have bigger blind spots than other vehicles. Give way and extra space to buses, take extra care when changing lanes around buses and never assume that the driver has seen you.

19/01/2026

πŸ“Έ Don't forget, all speeding offences are being enforced by average speed cameras at two light vehicle trial sites. This includes cars, motorcycles and utes 🚘 🏍️ πŸ›»

If you're heading away this holiday season, allow yourself plenty of travel time, including time for rest breaks, to get to your destination safely.

Only a few kays DOES matter.....

The faster you go, the harder you hit.

Data shows that even a small increase in speed can mean a much longer stopping distance, and a much lower chance of survival in the event of a crash.

Slow down. Every kilometre counts.

How times change..... both the local area and the volume of traffic!

Leader Flashback: The Fiveways at Miranda looking toward Port Hacking Road in the 1980s. This intersection is and has been for many years a junction for transport routes providing access to all corners of the Shire. The Miranda Fire Station a landmark on the Port Hacking Road seen here in the background was built on this site in 1974. An upgrade to the Fiveways in 2002 saw the replacement of the roundabout and the installation of a series of traffic lights.
