What a brilliant experience celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime! 📚✨ The children gathered beautifully for the reading of ‘Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller’, completely captivated by the story of a young kangaroo who became an amazing team captain despite facing doubts and challenges. You could see their focus as they sat together, soaking up every word and discovering all the wonderful Australian animals throughout the tale! After storytime, the excitement continued with a jersey-designing activity that had everyone buzzing with creativity. The children chose between decorating a front or back jersey template, carefully selecting their special numbers and designing unique logos with vibrant markers. The concentration on their faces as they worked was absolutely gorgeous to see! 🎨 From practising name writing to choosing meaningful numbers, this activity beautifully wove together literacy, numeracy, and creative expression. What a wonderful way to celebrate storytelling and teamwork, just like Luna Roo herself! 🦘💛 🌳🙏🏻

This week, the program focused on Reconciliation Week.
⚫️🟡🔴 Children participated in several educational experiences designed to reflect on Indigenous culture and emphasise the importance of inclusion and incorporation of Aboriginal perspectives. 🦘🪃 🌳💕

🍁 Nature Play Week 🌴
Resources from nature as well as recycled materials played a big part in our nature play week program. Opening dialogue about the natural world around us and tapping into our imagination as we used materials to create and construct!! 😊💕🌳

Harmony Week 2026

So much fun celebrating the multiculturalism and diversity at Acorn 👩🏻‍🦰🧑🏾‍🦱👧🏻👱🏼
Children dressed in traditional clothing representing their culture or they wore the colour that represents Harmony Week, 🧡orange!!!
We finished the week off with our educators sharing a dish from their own culture for a special staff lunch 🍜🥘💕🌳

It’s never to early to learn about healthy eating!! Our baby Acorns have been learning through play about all things healthy! 🍓🥑🍌🥗 😊🌳

Holi - Festival of Colours 2026

The sun was shining for our Holi colour throwing🌞 ❤️💙💜💛💚🧡🌈 Miss Sheetal led the experience, by giving us all a taste of her special, cultural celebration 🙏🏻
The children particularly enjoyed sneaking up on our Educators to throw the coloured powder at them!!! 😊🌳💕

Our Acorns are currently crazy about Dinosaurs!!! 🦖🦕 Fossils, foot prints and construction creations!! So many interesting names to learn! Were they herbivores or carnivores?? 🤔 lots to discuss at group time 📚we are learning through play 🙌🏻 Even our babies are getting into the dinosaur fun 🤩 🌳💕

Teddy Bears Picnic 2025 🧸🍯
The cold, wet weather didn’t stop us from enjoying our teddy bears picnic! 🧺
We sat with our families and our teddies and enjoyed some yummy, fresh honey sandwiches 🥪 🤎
