๐ง Yoga with Miss Amber! ๐ง
Our Koala and Wallaby friends had so much fun exploring yoga together. The children had a turn spinning the spinner and choosing a yoga pose card for the class to try!
Through this playful activity, the children practiced deep breathing, balance and concentration as they worked on holding each pose. Yoga is a wonderful way to support childrenโs mindfulness, body awareness and emotional regulation while having lots of fun with their friends.
We loved seeing everyone give it a go and cheer each other on! ๐ฟโจ
๐ โจ Educator Spotlight -Kathleen โจ ๐
We are so lucky to have Kathleen as part of our team! Originally for Sรฃo Paulo, Brazil, Kathleen brings a beautiful blend of warmth, culture and a wealth of early childhood knowledge to our centre.
Kathleen loved incorporating her home language of Portuguese into everyday moments with the children from singing songs and greetings to simple phrases during play. Itโs such a special way to build cultural awareness, belonging and connecting within our learning community ๐ฑ
We absolutely love the global perspective Kathleen brings and the rich learning experiences she creates for our children each day.
Obrigada, Kathleen, for sharing your culture and passion with us! โจ
A beautiful morning at Oxford Falls โจ
Our babies explored colour mixing today, watching in wonder as colours blended and changed before their eyes. These early sensory experiences spark curiosity and build the foundations for early science learning ๐จ
In Wallabies, the focus has been on the letter โSโ with hands on table set ups including snake decorating; puzzles and creative colouring. Learning through play makes literacy fun, meaningful and engaging.
And during rest time, some of our boys have been quietly building and creating with LEGO, strengthening problem solving skills, imagination and fine motor development ๐
Every spade filled with curiosity, creativity and connection ๐

Morning Tea With Our Littlest Learners ๐
Today our babies enjoyed a nourishing morning tea of fresh fruits and soft English muffins. Sharing food together supports connection, independence and positive relationships with food and of course, lots of happy little smiles ๐๐๐ฅฏ
This Week in Lorikeets ๐ฆโจ
Weโve been focusing on feelings and emotions, supporting children to recognise, name and express how they are feeling.
This mornings group time invited children to listen to a story centred around emotions and then express themselves through tapping sticks, dancing and singing. These experiences help children build emotional awareness, confidence and self regulation, while also strengthening communication and social connnections with their p*ers.
By learning to understand their feelings early on, children develop empathy, resilience and the skills the need to navigate relationships now and as they grow ๐๐ถ๐
๐ Echidna Room Magic This Morning ๐
Our little explorers enjoyed digging into sand play, splashing in water, and feeling the grass beneath their feet. These simple, sensory experiences help children build balance, strengthen muscles, and regulate their bodies all while connecting with nature in the most joyful way.
Bare feet, busy hands, curious minds ๐

๐ฑGrowing, discovery & imagining in nature ๐ฑ๐
Our Lorikeet recently discovered a tomato plant growing out on the field, and with the guidance of Miss Suhee, the children carefully replanted it into our fruit and vegetable patch. This hands on moment sparked curiosity, responsibility and pride as the children worked together to care for something living.
Our nature play is in full swing with soil, sand and natural materials combined with animals for rich imaginary and sensory play. These experiences allow children to slow down, explore with their whole bodies, and create meaningful connections with the world around them.
In todayโs fast paced, artificial world, being surrounded by nature is more important than ever. Nature supports childrenโs emotional wellbeing, builds resilience, strengthens fine and gross motor skills, and encourages creativity.
Here in the Lorikeets room, we are growing more than plays, we are growing confident, curious little humans ๐ฟ๐
๐ฑ Lorikeet Room Nature Exploration ๐ฑ
Our lorikeet children enjoyed the Oxford Falls Early Learning grounds today, discovering plants, flowers and sticks along the way. They used their senses to feel different textures, smell fresh limes from our trees and observe the beautiful colours of the flowers, which we brought back to the room for an afternoon activity.
The children also loved running freely in the field, building confidence and enjoying the outdoors. Spending time in nature supports sensory development, curiosity and wellbeing, helping children form meaningful connections with the world around them ๐ธ๐ฟ
๐ฟ ๐จ Learning From All Sides of Australia ๐จ๐ฟ
As Australia Day approaches, Oxford Falls is sharing experiences that reflect the many stories and histories of our country. Today, Miss Amber shared knowledge about Aboriginal peoples and explored how natural materials were traditionally used to create paint.
Sand was carefully gathered and separated into small palette, where the children ground the sand, added water and mixed their own natural paints. Together, they pained symbols inspired by Aboriginal storytelling, including campfires, rivers and goanna tracks, while engaging in meaningful conversations about connection to land and culture.
These experiences support childrenโs respect for diversity, cultural awareness, fine motor development and learning through hands on exploration.
