🌙 So proud to have hosted our very first whole-school Eid celebration ✨

Hosting our very first whole-school Eid celebration across our whole school from Kindergarten to Year 6 was such a special moment. From lanterns and moon-and-star crafts to chalk Islamic art, henna, our kindness wall and meaningful student discussions — it was beautiful seeing our students so engaged, connected and excited to learn and celebrate together 🤍

Moments like these remind me why representation, inclusion and creating spaces where every child feels seen truly matter in our schools.

Seeing students feel proud, connected and joyful in celebrating their culture and faith was honestly the highlight of it all 🌟

So grateful to our wonderful Principal for supporting and encouraging opportunities like this within our school community and to the staff, students, families and volunteers who helped bring the day to life.

Wishing those who celebrated, a joyful Eid-ul-Adha filled with peace, kindness and barakah 🌙

Some days you question if what you’re doing is enough…

And then a small, unexpected moment reminds you 🤍

Teaching isn’t just lessons and routines — it’s heart, care, and the little things no one sees.

This meant more than they’ll ever know.

(Left by someone who noticed — and that meant everything)

Sometimes you need to pause…
to remember where you’re going 🤍

Between teaching, motherhood and building something meaningful — it’s easy to get caught up in the rush.
But moments like this remind me: slow growth is still growth.

🌿 What’s something you’re working towards right now?

I went quiet… but this moment deserved to be seen 🤍

Earlier this year, my article was featured in AMUST — and it marked the first time I shared my Dari alphabet book publicly with the Afghan community.

Standing alongside community leaders and families, seeing children connect with their language… that’s the impact 💛🇦🇫

This is just the beginning.

The recent end-of-year Afghan schools picnic marked an important milestone for me — the first time I was able to share my children’s book, My First Dari Alphabet Book, with the Afghan community in a public setting.

The book was created to support Afghan children in learning their heritage language in a clear and accessible way.

✨️ A special Ramadan evening 🌙

A little throwback to a beautiful iftar gathering with community members and the Hon. Ed Husic
Moments like these — sharing iftar and meaningful conversations with community — make this time even more special.

A special thank you to the Australian Islamic College of Sydney for hosting such a wonderful evening and bringing the community together.

As we enter the last 10 blessed nights of Ramadan, it’s a powerful reminder to pause, reflect and strengthen our faith, gratitude and compassion for others. May these final days of Ramadan bring peace, mercy and countless blessings to all.

Ramadan Mubarak. 🤍

✨️A moment from last week that still means so much 🤍

💚 Here is a throwback to our clip from my speech at the Afghan schools’ end-of-year picnic, where I had the honour of presenting my children’s book, My First Dari Alphabet Book, to our community.

💚 This was my first community launch — a resource created to support Afghan children worldwide with their first Dari words, including English translations and transliterations to help families learn together.

💚 It was a great honour to be invited by the President of the Afghan Community Support Association (ACSA) to share this work with families, educators and community leaders. Being invited to speak was a full-circle moment, especially after previously serving as an Education Officer within the community. Grateful for the opportunity, the support and the reminder of why preserving language, identity and belonging matters so deeply.

💚 These holidays, if you haven't already done so, grab a copy for your little ones to read and connect with their language at home 🤍

A place way everything is organised, safely stored and ready to be treasured for years to come. 📘

💚 A special way to keep each school year in one place for my three girls — their learning, friendships, milestones and memories all preserved to look back on as they grow. Because these moments are too precious to lose… they deserve a forever home.

✨️Celebrating Language, Culture & Community🤍📚

💚 Today, I was deeply honoured to be invited by the President of the Afghan Community Support Association to share my First Dari Alphabet Book with the Afghan community.

💚 As an Afghan author and educator, it means so much to contribute to preserving our language and supporting early literacy for our children.

💚 A sincere thank you to everyone who purchased the book and shared such positive and encouraging feedback — your support is truly appreciated.

💚 Having my girls by my side throughout this experience was a truly special and emotional moment — a reminder of why this journey matters so deeply to me.

💚 This was our first community launch and it was such a beautiful beginning. Looking forward to many more gatherings like this in the future, In Sha Allah 🇦🇫📚✨
