Dear KIPI Families and Friends,
Following updated medical advice, I will be continuing my extended leave, and KIPI Family Day Care will remain temporarily closed. While my initial return was planned for the end of July, my doctors have confirmed that I am not yet ready to resume work. A return date has not been set, and my recovery timeframe may extend over the coming months.
Caring for your children has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and this decision has been made purely on medical advice. I’m truly sorry for any disruption this may cause.
For all care arrangements and enquiries, please contact the Collective Family Day Care management team directly. They will support you with alternative educator placements and assist with any administrative questions during my absence.
Thank you for your kindness, patience and understanding. I remain hopeful that, once my health improves, I will be able to return to the work I love.

NAIDOC Week 2026 celebrates the theme ‘50 Years of Deadly’, recognising, celebrating and elevating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, culture, leadership and community.

Educators can use this time to strengthen respectful relationships, engage with local communities, and reflect on how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are meaningfully embedded in everyday practice.

Many children don’t 'ignore' the toilet… they simply don’t feel the signals in time.

If your child struggles with accidents, leaves it until the last minute, or found the transition from nappies harder than expected, this might be about interoception — not behaviour.

When we understand what’s happening inside the body, we can respond with support instead of frustration.
